Where did you submit, ie. through VFS in some other country?

A note here: you can (should) submit in most cases to the nearest VFS, and that VFS will generally send the package to the nearest govt of Canada visa office (eg in embassy or consulate) that has the ability to print visas. Yes, they do not have to return it to the visa office that processed your file - and so the timeframe for that visa office may not be relevant.

Very true. In this instance it was through VFS Warsaw -> London due to backlog delays with the Warsaw Embassy. It looks like the backlog is still high with London, here is what they have said yesterday in the auto responder. "If your passport was sent to us for printing, please note that it may take 4-8 weeks for your passport to be returned. Passports cannot be collected from the High Commission of Canada in person." I look forward to the day when they are back up to normal processing times.

Hi everyone, got the ppr yesterday, Nov 15th (see my timeline in my signature), thank God. Finally. It's been a long journey. Hope this spreads some hope and sincerely wishing that everyone else is reunited with their spouses very soon.

I also have 2 questions:

1.) How long should I expect it to take to get the passport stamped with the visa and returned? We plan to have it picked up in person. Anyone have any experience or idea of how long it takes with the Lahore Visa Application Centre?

2.) When should I book tickets? It looks like even just one-way tickets from Pak to Canada are insanely expensive for most of this month and December, and if I wait the full 4 weeks for the passport to come back, then won't it just be more expensive to book a ticket closer to the actual date? Should I book tickets 4 weeks from now to avoid price hikes in already expensive tickets, or just wait?

EDIT: Also, I have noticed that there are some people who got their pre-arrival letter and they have waited for a long time to receive the PPR--maybe try checking any other email you used in your application? Because I got the ppr request in different email from the one in which I usually received updates. In fact, my ppr request letter ONLY showed up in that email, it still hasn't even updated in Gc key yet.

So if you are waiting for that PPR and you have already received the pre-arrival letter, make sure you also check any other emails you had also included in your application to contact you, or your representative, or your spouse! Because the request could only be showing up in one email right now, and you actually have 30 days from the receipt of that email to submit the passport.

PPR is Passport request. It is one of the last steps in the process. After that is visa issue, COPR issue, then landing in Canada, then receiving PR card.

“In progress” means we’re still reviewing your application.

That does seem exceptionally long, most seem to ahve been (including warsaw in the past) 2-4 weeks. And if submitted in eg Moscow they'd print the visa at either one depending which was less busy.

IRCC has said over the phone and through email that our application is approved and in queue for virtual landing. Today COPR's were entered in the portal. What do you make of the COPR expiration dates? Normally they are syncronized with the medical expiration dates, so this seems strange. Are they doing something different with the dates due to it being a Ukraine application or something?

No the COPR expiration dates are associated with the expiration of your passport and have nothing to do with the medical

Yes, you need to ensure your address and phone numbers are up to date.

No the COPR expiration dates are associated with the expiration of your passport and have nothing to do with the medical

Just to add: the "COPR" on the tracker is the notional number allocation - it also does not mean that the final (actual) COPR will have that same expiration date. The actual COPR will almost certainly have an expiry one year after the medical. The 'expiry' here (expiration of passport) is probably being used for some internal IRCC reason (and actually mislabelled since it doesn't mean what the title says).

Only needed if your dependent children have dependent children or something like that. Not needed for normal spousal sponsorship

IMM1283 is needed only if you or your spouse have dependents. But that said the sponsor needs to attach a Letter of Explanation on how they would financially support the spouse they are sponsoring.

In IMM008 for national identity card I cannot move forward without an expiry date, I can't even enter N/A.
