Can anybody please advice if it is possible to do upfront remedicals and PCC and upload both of them via portal or webform? Will it be considered as legit by ircc?? Anybody has done this before?
I wouldn't advise doing upfront med...wait until they request.....Reason is that, it med results last for 12 month so if you do it early and they don't approve your application within that 12 month period, you will need to do another medical wasting another money again...Resources wise and not wasting money for nothing, wait until they ask you to to match with the time....Save some money

Hello everyone. I Am a canadian pr and will be sponsering my spouse in next 2 weeks. As We are collecting the needed documentation, I got a new job offer which is better so I am thinking of considering it. My only concern is that if I provide letter of employment from my new job, would that be okay? They are okay to provide me one, but it’s going to be from a new job . As for as I can see, we just need to show immigration that we can support our partner. Just want to double check if that’s going to be okay. Thank you for your time.
Show every thing you have to them

Dear all,

I am an India Citizen. I have landed in Canada in September 2020(during covid) got my PR card and returned back to India in December 2020.
I got married in August 2021 and now i am planning to return to Canada along with my wife.
I know there are two options i.e Outland and Inland. Which one of following suits me best?

1. Get my wife a visitor visa and travel to Canada together and apply PR for my wife(Inland scenario). Whether this is possible and if possible how much time does it take?
2.I travel alone to Canada and then apply for PR for my wife(Outland scenario).Whether this is possible and if possible how much time does it take?
Coming with her on a visitors visa is always the best but it's not always that easy and usually you should have allowed your partner to apply even before your marriage so when you marry, you just bring them in and that creates more intimacy and grow your marriage content but if refused ,then you have to go the long haul of home and away where you have to be ready to stay away from your spouse for more than 12 or more months and have to go through all the stress.....in higher degree!! So the choice is yours....inland requires strategy while outland requires tactics

Hi,
I applied to sponsor my wife last October (paper application) and we didn't receive any update or AOR yet. I am really worried that the application got lost. I was not able to talk to an agent as the call always gets disconnected saying all agents are busy.
I am wondering if I can submit a new application now. Can I submit a new application now since I don't know what happened to the existing application? If I do so, will it have any impact or delay in processing?.
Thanks.
Hi,
Can someone please advise me?

Hi,
Can someone please advise me?
I agree with Efie, you are not the only one in this position. IRCC is not consistent with their exact timelines, you cannot mirror everyone else’s application timelines, there could be several different reasons as to why you have not got your AOR yet, sending another one might just confuse the process. If the application is being returned for any reason and in the mean time you send another same application, you will only have to fix the error and send another one again, be patient and wait, your timeline is not out of the ordinary.

Can anyone please help me understand this?
What is the meaning of this statement?

"Permanent residents must sponsor their spouses from inside Canada"

https://www.cicnews.com/2022/04/how-to-sponsor-your-spouse-and-children-for-canadian-immigration-0424515.html
It pretty much means exactly that. PRs must be physically present in Canada to sponsor their spouses. Especially when submitting the app, but also throughout. "Short trips" abroad during the process are okay.

(Canadian citizens can be outside Canada but will need to show intent to return/settle in Canada)

I think what you've done is fine - for this particular box, though, I'd suggest also putting the reason it is not applicable

eg:
Not applicable - sponsor and applicant have resided together since [date]

Not strictly necessary though.
Hi, I have a question please advice accordingly......I called ircc to check status of my application...I got an automated msg that
if they need more info they would contact, review of eligibility has not started, do not need medical, no interview,no biometrics, they are working on my background checks.......... so whats the total understanding of this whole......?& how much more time it might take.....just an idea. please

Like someone previously mentioned in one of your posts,be patient and just wait.
There are likely tens of thousands of people who have their applications in before yours who are still waiting to get final approval, myself included. you are likely, at very least a few months away from ECOPR and that is based on what seems to be much faster processing than the previous months and years. Noone here is going to be able to answer your with the exact date you will get approval and its also stated when you call IRCC they will not be able to fast track your application. Some people have been waiting over a year, you're application is no more special than anyone elses. so calm down and be patient.

No worries but at this very very early stage of your application, it is not delayed. I would start to maybe worry/be curious if by december this year there is not more update. before then, your application is within time frame.

Hi guys, I just wanted to clarify on the order of the Inland Spousal Sponsor application + OWP package. I've read it a few times and looked at another thread, but I just wanted to really confirm on what I'm understanding here. The site says:
  • checklist;
  • open work permit application (and supporting documents), if applicable;
  • any barcode pages;
  • supporting documents, in the order they’re listed on the checklist.
I am confused because I'm not sure if it means both checklists (spousal sponsorship + owp), and the 4th item in that list just says supporting documents and not sure if it refers to the sponsorship application. So my understanding is this order from what I have read:

1. Inland Spousal Sponsorship CHECKLIST
2. Open Work permit CHECKLIST
3. Open Work permit application
4. Bar codes for Inland Spousal Sponsorship
5. The entire spousal sponsorship application package (IMM 1344, IMM008... etc) and supporting documents in order of the first checklist

Does this sound right? My original intuition was to have the checklist of sponsorship application + barcodes + application, THEN the entire OWP checklist and application. So I wanted to make sure I had it in the correct order.

Any help is appreciated!

Edit: After going through some more threads, I think I found what I'm looking for. Here is what I'm going to go with:

Order of documents
IMM 5533 - Spouse checklist
IMM 5556 - OWP Checklist
IMM 5720 - OWP application
OWP Supporting documents (Fees Receipt, Passport copy, Marriage certificate)
OWP Barcode page
Spouse Barcode pages
IMM 1344 - Application to sponser
FEES RECEIPT
IMM 0008- Generic application
IMM 5406 - Family info
IMM 5669 - Background declaration
IMM 5532 - Relationship
Supporting documents of spouse, applicant, proof of cohabitation, proof of relationship, photos etc.
