For PR application eligibility completed on 11 march along with invitation to pre arrival services but background check not started. As far as I know there is nothing to do in background check for infants now toddlers.
Now waiting for PPR , don't know how much time more it will take , flights already booked for May 1st week

Dear All,

I submitted inland application, and today I got following update with rejection. Can anyone please suggest the next steps if you have been in same boat.

This refers to the application you submitted to sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner or dependent child and the associated application for a permanent resident visa.

Please note your application has been rejected for the following reason:

1. Consent and Declaration

A parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of a dependent child under the age of 18 when a signature for this person is required.

2. Schedule A - Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)

A parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of a dependent child under the age of 18 when a signature for this person is required.

Note: your application will be rejected as incomplete as soon as one requirement is missing. A complete application must include all required fees, all Departmental forms completed and signed (electronic and/or handwritten signature, if applicable), along with any required supporting documentation. To ensure you provide a complete application, we encourage you to follow the guidelines on the applicable Document Checklist.

An application must meet the requirements of sections 10 and 11 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) to be accepted for processing. Section 12 of the IRPR states: “If the requirements of sections 10 and 11 are not met, the application and all documents submitted in support of the application shall be returned to the applicant.”

In addition, Ministerial Instructions were given on December 15, 2016 pursuant to section 87.3 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), requiring that applications made by sponsored spouses, common-law partners and conjugal partners, as well as the associated sponsorship applications, meet certain conditions to be accepted for processing. Any application which does not meet the conditions established in the Instructions must also be returned.

The forms required by Part A of the applicable Document Checklist (found online here) are needed to satisfy section 12 of the IRPR, whereas the supporting documents required by Part B of the Document Checklist must be included to meet the conditions established by the Ministerial Instructions.

When you resubmit your application, if it meets the requirements for processing, it will then enter the processing queue based on the date of its re-submission.

If you are re-submitting your application please ensure you also include a copy of this letter.

Please refer to the Document Checklist to help you understand what documents are required for a complete application. Please note that we’ve updated the Document Checklist to make it easier to use and understand. As of February 14th, 2018, you are required to use the new checklist when submitting your application.

Note: The Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form and Police certificate(s) are now required in order to meet the completeness requirements.

In addition to the Document Checklist, we have also included some additional information to assist you in understanding the requirements for your application. Please consult the application guide for more detailed information.

Note: If you intend to resubmit your application, please review all attached documents and ensure that you are using the new version of the Document Checklist. As a reminder, you should also review the application kit found on our website to help you perfect your application so that it meets the requirements for processing.

The checklist, guides, and information about country specific requirements found at the link above will help you confirm that you have included the required forms and documents we need to put your application into process.

Information about general eligibility requirements for sponsoring your spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, or dependent child, and the required application forms and documents which must be submitted, can be found on our website.

Thank you for your interest in Canada.

These are common mistakes , almost everyone makes these mistakes, you will need to resubmit the application after making the required correction ( looks like you are applying online to sponsor an inland child so you will need to use the parent name in any signature location. )

When did you apply and when you you got this rejection ?

Thanks. Did you also got the same rejection? how do you know if this is the signature issue. I see I have added my child name in consent and schedule A signature area. Do I need to add my name(Parent) and thats all?

i Applied Jan26 and got rejection on 21 March.

I submitted and online application on Oct 20 for an inland dependent sponsorhsip. On Jan 24, the online portal was updated with a "returned" status and I also received an email saying the application was rejected due to:

CONSENT & DECLARATION

Consent and Declaration form must be signed by the Principal Applicant

· A parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of a dependent child under the age of 18 when a signature for this person is required.

SCHEDULE A - BACKGROUND/DECLARATION (IMM 5669) FORM:

· A parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of a dependent child under the age of 18 when a signature for this person is required.

My questions are:

- I'm not 100% sure what the issue was as the dependent is 1 year old and I did sign on their behalf. Can someone help me understand? Actually it seems that I wrote the dependent's name instead of mine in the Electronic Signature field. It seems that this was the error.
- Do I need a new processing fee? I have conflicting info as online portal says returned while email says rejected.
- Can I submit a paper application instead now? I feel like online applications are moving much slower. Waiting for three months for a return is brutal.
Hi Dear,

Is your issue resolved? I also got the same rejection letter. Can you let me know the steps which you took?

yes i got the same rejection and have seen others rejected for same reason , you can't sign using child name , you must sign using parent name . I applied again after correcting this issue and looks like it passed this initial check.

Hi, guys does anyone here had to do a DNA for their dependent PR application?
if yes, was it before or after the medical request?

Thank you in advance.
Hi, We had to do this and the request came 3 months after our medical. DNA is completed and we are now waiting again hopefully for PPR.

Hi Anyone else waiting a long time for GCMS notes. We applied in mid January and still have received nothing. I have sent a follow up request and still heard nothing.

This process certainly tests our patience. We applied May 19, 2022 for our son, who was on my husbands original application two years ago and did not come to Canada at that time. Sponsorship approval, medicals, and even DNA have all been completed and we still wait.

I applied for notes and three months later was advised that we could not have the notes as my stepdaughter is a minor and we need both parents to sign for the notes.... URGH. My husband is the sponsor of his minor daughter and it took everything just to get the mom to sign the forms to get her here, we said forget it on the notes.
We applied May 2021 as well and have been passed to three different VO's its now finally at the VO it should have been at in the first place and its been complete silence since Medical.
MP is of zero assistance as usual. I really hope you get some answers soon. This whole process was easier with my husband than it is for children
