Hi all, I’m a long-time follower of this forum. I bring good news! My Ghanaian husband just got his passport request (May 2021 applicant; outland spousal sponsorship)!! He’s been approved! No interview required!

A couple questions to the group…
  1. He needs to submit his passport at the Visa Application Centre in Accra. Do you need to make an appointment? (He’s going to call next week, but I was hoping someone here might know. We’re just so excited… bursting!)
  2. How long has it been taking for Ghanaians (in Ghana) to get their passport back? We’re trying to mentally prepare for our next steps.
Here’s our timeline:

May 12, 2021 AOR1
June 25, 2021 AOR2
July 2, 2021 Sponsor approval
July 28, 2021 Started processing application
Oct 12, 2021 – Medical request (but they forgot to include the attachment in the email! It took 3 weeks and a few calls to my MP’s office to get the attachment. No biometrics required because he had done them for a previous application)
Nov 3, 2021 – Medical completed.
Nov 15, 2021 – “Medical results have been received”
Then nothing, nothing, nothing until yesterday…
Mar 4, 2022 – email with pre-arrival letter, then the passport request email, one after the other!!

It was a long wait, but he is finally approved. With God, are things are possible!!
No appointment
A week or two or days

Anytime I log into the new tracker it is always updated but there’s no changes in the application. I get the ghost updated almost every day.
The system updates you signing in and not IRCC updating your file or the ghost you talking about....You signed in yesterday 6 March and signed in again on the 7...so the system must update your signing in of all the days.....It must change to the 6 and then to the 7 accordingly.....no ghost here

I suggest you either call or email vfs Ghana, if you haven’t already done that. They will send you the instructions on how to proceed via Email. But you basically make payment for a return at Ecobank and submit to DHL for delivery to vfs. VFS send emails to update you through the process so you will know when it gets to the High commission and when it’s sent back to you. Minimum duration to get back the passport is 2 weeks.

Hi Everyone,
My husband (Applicant) got ADR yesterday request from Accra Visa office. We got our gcms notes few weeks back and were actually expecting an interview request since we saw “Review Required” and Interview language: English. The ADR is for him to give a detailed explanation of how our relationship progressed from when we first met till his decision to marry me. My question is: does ADR usually lead to interview? Should we still expect an interview after this? Are they any tips on how he should approach this ADR. Btw, we are May 21 applicants and he has completed his biometrics & medicals. Useful suggestions will be appreciated.

If the ADR is satisfactory, there might not be the need for an interview. He needs to be detailed in his explanation without talking in circle, straight to the point.
Start from day 1 on how y'all meet. He needs to explain the reasonning to how yall went from meeting to deciding to get married. He needs to explain like the reader is 5 years old. There shouldnt be any space for doubts in the officer's mind. Good luck

My family's (back in Nigeria) docs (Marriage Cert, Police fingerprints, kids Birth Cert) were requested by the Canadian High Commission in Ghana in 2021 after i got my PR in April 2021. My wife submitted the requested docs since May 2021 but till now, no information concerning their application. i emailed them twice asking why the application is taking much longer than expected but was told it is in queue for a review and that nothing needs to be done at the moment. i am getting tired and frustrated because it will be a year since she submitted these documents.

Can anyone in similar situation please tell me if there's another way to get more info about this application?

I am the principal applicant residing in Canada,

Thanks

If the thing is in a queue for review....it can call for an interview or Still have to wait until those infront of your application in the line of the queue are clear first until it comes to your turn....!! Because children are involved....it always takes longer because it's not only one but a family either 2 or 3 will take longer time
