I think, there will be separate dedicated teams for each activity.

For eg,. a team for initial review of new applications and sending PER (team A), another team for sending MR, PPR, etc (team B). Another team for initiating security/bg checks (team C), yet another team for declaring DM (team D) and a final team for actual stamping (team E).

I mean, if I were to start a company, I will create different teams to do different activity. Now, my point is if team A is in-charge of new applications, they wont be working on DMs or issuing visas. So, how is team A (new applications) responsible for delay in stamping (which is team D job)... ??

Just my guess... but I may be wrong in the way they work... trying to keep myself in that position and thinking...
We all have nothing but to wait and ruin our precious time and scratch heads assuming things. Logically background checks and other verifications shud happen before MR, RPRF and PPR. No point in holding imp. document like PPs unnecessarily.

Future yet to b unveil !!!!

M feeling very down with every single day now. Wait wait and wait friends...........

Totally understand and agree with you Sir...... atleast you guys have some job to keep yourself engaged and keeping minds busy.... i will be sitting at home, reading stuff and nothing much to do except take care of kids while wife is away at work.... I am a house-husband now..!!!! :)

See my irony - no job in India -- job in Canada, but no visa..... so taking beating on both sides...!!!!

If this was not case specific enquiry then how they reverted saying we have got the passports and the application is pending review....nothing is clear

The Email says due to high volume of correspondence....it might be due to other applications queued for MR, PPR, RPRF and may be security clearances, personal or professional background checks....there might be many factors stating delay in processing...

However, the email is not very encouraging but definitely helps some one to know where the file is and can plan accordingly.

This email is response to a General Email inquiring about the processing of the file. There was no Case specific inquiry request been raised.

Unlike me, i have not received any revert on my email :( and it has been 12.5 months now that I have applied to CIC and not sure where the file is stuck and when i can expect my passports back with Visa's. :(

S

Hi Vineeth,

this may not be the right time to ask this question. Have you explored the option of transferring your files to Canada while you where there?
tht case, i think you would have been able to continue the job that you got. I am not sure whether it was a feasible option tht time.

Regards,
Krishna

Hi Krishna - You can read this. Already checked.... (given by our forum member named Snehith)...pls see in RED below...

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi.

If you are currently outside of India, or have upcoming or frequent travel outside of India, you are not required to submit your passport at this time. However, if you are not submitting your passport with the other items requested, you must submit a letter explaining why you are unable to submit your passport. When the processing of your application has reached the final review stage, we will send you a second request letter. Once you receive this letter, you must submit your passport by the date specified, failing which your application may be refused.

Please note that waiting for a second passport request will delay the completion of processing of your application.

Your visa can only be issued by the visa office where your application is in process and cannot be transferred to Canada or any other visa office for visa issuance. As well, Indian law prohibits the sending of passports in and out of the country by mail or courier.

Once you submit your passport, you will need to provide a mailing address in India to which your passport can be returned by Registered mail after your visa is issued. If that address is different than the address currently on your file, you will need to submit an original letter, signed by you, requesting a change of address.

A trusted friend, relative, or agent may send, through the secure means outlined above, from within India, your passport to our office on your behalf. However, please note that it is your responsibility to send the passports to our office in adherence with international law and within the deadline which we have given you for such submission.

Applicants can check the status of their case on the CIC website by clicking on Client Application Status. For actual processing times of permanent resident applications in New Delhi for the last 12 months, please click here.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Friends - I was thinking a lot on the delay and was thinking from all angles and I feel most of the delay has got something to do with our past International Travel History.

May be, everyone can throw light here.. I feel this is how it happens -

After our File Transfer to NDVO, they screen the applications to see if people have traveled internationally. If yes, then such files they keep with NDVO and ppl who have not traveled earlier or only 1-2 countries they send it to CVO. Thats the reason, once CVO asks pp, it comes back with stamping within 15 days, whereas whoever sends PP to NDVO takes forever for stamping...

It appears that NDVO tries to call the Immigration dept of the countries we visited to check if we overstayed, any visa frauds, etc.....

So, bottom-line - the more countries you travel, expect more delays....

For eg., I travelled to US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand (may be thats why the delay)

CVO folks can comment - Have you all traveled internationally in the past?? If yes, which countries??

(this is what happens when Mind is idle too much... i am thinking too many junk things perhaps....!! ):(

Yes sir... unfortunately ... yes... :)

I am assuming that you are asking in Ontario where to live close to IT hubs (was not clear on your question).

So, anyway, the answer is - in Ontario, the places u can stay are - Mississauga, WaterLoo/Kitchener or downtown Toronto and in Ottawa, a place called Kanata (its Technology hub).

Note - I have no idea about other provinces.... (have visited Quebec/Montreal only as a tourist 5 yrs back on some onsite visit).

I am thinking to start with bilingual jobs in Montreal or Ottawa. If I do not have or in a months time...I would contemplate shifting to the places especially Mississauga.. let me know if that sounds relevant to u since u have been there...I am saying Ottawa coz its a river bank away from gatineau (Quebec)
