She can mail it from Canada -- use Canada Post's Xpresspost service. When you get the PPR email, there's a link that includes instructions for where to send your passport if you're in Canada (Ft. Erie).
Yep. I purposely included the links in my post above, when I copied the PPR format. Those are all the links sent to me in the actual PPR email. The instructions for passport submission tell you everything you need to know about mailing your passport, whether it's from the States or Canada, etc.

So the wife is driving now so I can update everyone on our Buffalo process. We arrived there at 6:30 bit they don't bring anyone up until 7:30. We got their so early because we allowed for an hour at the USA border because of my visa problems last year down there. It seems like I am always pulled inside for 40-60 minutes but not today we were through in like 30seconds.

We getting inside we went to the main floor reception area and the lady told us that a guard would come down and get everyone from Tim Hortons at 7:30. We asked if we could just wait up there because we did have a long drive and wanted to be in and out ASAP but she said that we had to wait at the Tim Hortons and that we would be first. Ok great

So 7:30 comes along and they come down to get us and like 6 or 7 people who knew we were first run up and bump my wife out of the way and cut in front us. So that really made me fired up and angry. We walk up to the main floor with the guards and there are about 15-20 people already in line waiting. So that's strike 2 that made me upset

We ended having to wait about 2.5 hours while 3 of the people who bumped up had their passports back by 8:30 and were off to the border to land. Once we did get her passport everyone from the visa officer in Buffalo to the Immigration Officers at the border were very polite and had a great sense of humour it was very refreshing after our frustrating morning

I guess my advice to everyone is one of two things. If you do wait down at Tim Hortons sit right next to the doors because the guards will come down through the elevators and they will take you up the escalators or just show up around 7:15-7:20 and wait upstairs

Besides those 2 things it went pretty smoothly and I can't be happier to have my wife here with me in Canada. We are going to apply for a SIN number and her OHIP after I get off work tomorrow at 10am. So after that I will have another update

I hope everyone has a speedy and smooth process. When you get frustrated like I know I did. We met a couple from Calgary who were there for an Interview who applied back in January of 2010!!!!!! I felt so bad for them. Anywho just wanted to give everyone an update and wish everyone the best :)

Sooo happy for you Ocu_Canadian!! As soon as I get my PPR Im running over to the Consulate. I go to that Tim Hortons alot, so I know right where you're saying to wait by the elevators.

It's so great to hear these success stories. Keeps me motivated! :)

@Tigillicious. I am sure you are coming your application was 2 weeks after ours.

@Anthrogirl Don't wait by the elevators. Wait by the doors that go behind the escalators. If you wait by the elevators you will get screwed just like we did lol

Has ANYONE with an #F file number gotten PPR, or just #B numbers? I'm still sitting on an #F file number, with no concrete answer as to what the difference is... I haven't bothered to send any kind of inquiry yet, since I figured I'd just get the same generic response others have gotten. Maybe now's the time? ???

What was your inquiry? Just a "hey, how's this file going, do you need any more info?" inquiry?

I forget what page it is on this thread but someone had a template posted on here. It had roughly 6 or 7 things to include and I was just really polite. I am not saying it helped us get PPR quicker but it's worth a shot right?

ooo, I had an F number when I got AOR in April, and when Buffalo emailed me a few weeks ago to let me know that the mystery package that they sent me had been returned to them (even though the address they had on file was correct!), the subject line of the email now contained a B number. I wonder if that means the package is PPR!

although everyone else lately seems to be getting PPR by email, not snail mail.

(it's now been 16 days since that email... no package, no response to our emails to confirm that they resent it..)

Amaranth,

I think there is a corresponding B# to every F#. Because, when I got the PPR, the subject was "F#/B# cn/ez". But I did not know the B# till then. However I can access the same information using B# as well as F#.

I received what I thought was a ghost update from my e-cas tracker this morning. closer inspection revealed that it was actually the DISAPPEARANCE of my address that set it off. my client ID used to show our lawyer's address, and my spouse's client ID showed our home address. now, my client ID shows no address.. but my spouse's still shows our home address. I wonder if that is bad news (e.g. they lost my lawyer's address entirely) or good news (e.g. they are actually doing something with the file again, or finally sent something out!)

While studying in Buffalo, I used to go over to the canadian consulate for TRV a lot, my advice would be to go over to the main reception/floor. There would be a man who would check your passport and give you a sticker to stick on your shirt and then he should direct you to stand near the wall just before the Elevators. Dont wait at Tim Hortons....you should be standing across the wall from where you take a left and go towards the elevators.

OOOOOOOOOHH YEAH! Just got a reply to the email I sent to Buffalo the other day:

Good Morning

Your file number is F#/B#

Your application is in process. No further action is required by you at this time.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

Regards,

Canadian Consulate General Buffalo
Immigration Section

I'm assuming this counts as my AOR? ;D
