Hello Friends

I am in Canada and my wife still in my homeland as I have not yet updated CIC with my wife info.
I intend to do same once i meet my Residency Obligations and request my PR card renewal.

Can anyone guide me on the approximate time frame for the process of registration,PR renewal and sponsorship of my wife.

Regards

There is no registration process.

The posted processing time for PR card renewals is currently 90 days.

How long it takes to sponsor your wife will depend on her country of residence.

Thank you.

And how can I update my records with my wife info.

I will appreciate the time I should start my renewal process.

Should I wait the 730 days to be over or I can request renewal some months before.

Thank you for you advise.

There is no process for updating your information to add your wife. Once you're ready - you will simply submit the PR sponsorship application for your wife.

Do not start the renewal process until you have at least 730 days of residency in Canada - preferably wait until you have more. No - you cannot request renewal in advance. If you do this you should expect to lose your PR status. You have to wait.

You will also have to wait until you meet the PR application before you will be able to sponsor your wife.

Friends

I will like to have an advise.

I am to meet my RO only in March 2018,

What is the best possibility to bring my wife in Canada...There is a possibility of work permit I am considering...but is it worth the hassle.

or any other alternative.

You valuable input will be greatly appreciated.

And also..if she applies any type of visa...will it impact my PR.

To apply for a work permit, she will first need to secure a full time job offer in Canada and her employer will need to secure an approved LMIA. Another option would be to apply for a study permit. However this is a very expensive option. She would need to be accepted by a school first. She will need to make sure that the schooling she takes in Canada makes sense in light of her previous education and experience - and also demonstrate she has enough money to pay for these studies and strong ties to her home country. The last option would be a visitor visa which, if approved, would allow her to visit (but not live) in Canada.

Hello friends

The line below is a bit unclear to me.Would appreciate your guidance.

To apply for a work permit, she will first need to secure a full time job offer in Canada and her employer will need to secure an approved LMIA.

Will she be granted work permit knowing she is married to me and I am in Canada waiting to meet PR obligations.

Will her application to work permit have any immediate or my PR status or when I register her as spouse and apply for PR for her.

Your response will be appreciated.

She could also apply for express entry on her own.

No, she won't be granted a work permit, based solely on the fact that she is married to you-- she needs to have an offer of employment from a Canadian employer and an LMIA letter.
