Sometimes they send the acknowledgement, sometimes they don't. Usually if the visa office needs a document or they need to inform the Applicant of something, then they will contact. You can also check E-CAS (online status update) to see if the application went in process although this system is very slow to be updated too.

Hi. I am foreign worker in Canada and is about to have a baby in a few months. The father of my baby is also a foreign worker and is planning to apply for his PR under the CEC. He wants to include me and the baby in his application but he is married back home. There is no divorce in our country and annulment may take a lot of time.

Can he sponsor me and my baby even if he is married? We can prove that we have been together for over a year here in Canada. He and his wife have been separated for a long time. They have no kids and they never really lived together as couples.

I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks.

As I understand it, there shouldn't be a problem with this. Apply as common-law if you qualify and his being married will not matter.

If the sponsorship approval letter said that the file is being transferred to the visa office, then the visa office most likely have it by now.

In most cases, it can take up to a month to get there. Ours took a month to get from Ottawa to Los Angeles...

Hello all,

I have a question, so I have sent my finger prints almost 6 months ago to the Immigration section in Mexico City as I read on the website. Could anyone tell me if 6 months sounds about right? Will I get then receive the informes de datos registrales? or will they be sent directly to the visa office to which I have applied?

Rajan I applied for Open work permit behalf of my wife's open work permit. She went for 2 years studies under spp plan after that she got open work visa for 3 years and her visa will be finished in 2014. Sorry brother I don't in which category I have applied..

Just use the years (eg 1999-2000) and write a letter of explanation to the officer stating what you've said in the post. That will make things OK

hi, incase if anyone has an idea abt the day stike is ending or are the guys at delhi canadian vfs working?
my husband had filed for my pr in dec 2012 and same was approved by canada on 5th feb and sent to delhi but since then i have no news abt my file progress...
my firends who filed way back in july 2012 flew in nov 2012, just four months and
i am waiting even after 7 months.
pls help

I filed my husband's PR in january and his file sent to delhi on 28th feb and after dat i didnt get any reply..
I dont knw wat dese guys are doing...ppl after us even got request about their pasports...
No Idea wats happening in embassy..
