^ That is awesome news!

My wife received an email from Manila yesterday asking her to fill out and return Appendix A. Good news? Are we close?

Also, quick question about Appendix A - Am I filling in my information in the Spouse/Common law column? I am the spouse and sponsor.

Thanks!

I am also doing Appendix A. "applicant" - I(Korean wife), "Spouse"-my Canadian husband. That's what I did.

I think it's actually like the original application. You don't need to put yourself down if you're the sponsor. You're not applying for residency. Of course I'm not 100% confident but it seems just like the original.

From the research that i've done this afternoon, it seems like the sponsor should fill in the spouse/common law column.

Is this document generally sent at the beginning or end of the process? Should i not be getting my hopes up? :)

Hello!
I have looked around a lot on this forum but cant seem to find it (unless I missed it!)

Does anyone know where to get something notarized or certified in Korea? Can I go to a police station, district office, or lawyer?

Thank you!
There are at least 10 notarification and translation places nearby 종로구청. I suggest you go directly to a big one where provide both translation and notarification. If you want a specific place where I did, I can tell you in private message. Because I don't want to do any free advertisement .

Where did you see that info about the sponsor filling in the spouse column?

For us it appears to be near the end of the process. It was part of the letter that requested these few things via e-mail scan before they'd give the final COPR. Was there no mention of COPR in your e-mail?

I think it depends on the particular VO. In my wife's case we got the Appendix A request in August 2013 and didn't get COPR until September 2014. Others in this thread got the Appendix A request and got COPR a month or two later.

The COPR letter we received states..

In order to complete the process you must scan the required documents and send them by email to manil.immigration@international.gc.ca with the subject line “Passport information for visa issuance - F000XXXXX.”

The required documents are
-Copy of the biographical page of the passport
-Appendix A filled out
-2 new photos

Our issue is trying to figure out if they want scanned or hard copy photos. The e-mail clearly says to send scans of the required docs and makes no mention of mailing actual photos but they also include the Appendix B photo instructions that say things like 'don't staple the photos', 'be on single matte paper' etc.

We've emailed Manila to ask but has anyone dealt with this?

Well we got an answer from Manila. They've asked us to send the pictures to the embassy in Manila. None of this was mentioned in the original request. No wonder so many of these applications take forever to get done.

that would be awesome if you could send me the name of the place near 종로구청 in a private msg! Also, what were the prices like?
thanks!

I don't know when I last posted in this thread, it might have been over a year ago.

Anyways I sponsored my wife who is Korean and we finally got DM. We applied inland in December 2013, so it was a long wait, although we mostly just forgot about it and went on with our lives together.

Good luck to everyone on here!

Guys I have a question. What is the best way to send passport for stamping to Manila Office? Can we send original passport through Courier? Even though my case is handled by London office, I am living in Seoul. So I will request them to allow me to get my visa stamped from Manila office as it will be easier for us.
