What is the vaildity of a police report?..Because in the "Guide file"..it says The certificate must have been issued no more than three months prior to submitting your application, and on the document check list it states "generally valid for 1 year since date of issue"

The reports/certificates are valid for a year from issue, since CIC will take several months to actually process your application. It just can't have been issued for more than 3 months before you physically send in your application, for whatever reason. Just something they mandate, I guess.

At any rate, congrats again! When are you planning on applying for permanent residence? I have everything squared away and am just waiting for the FBI to send back my Police Clearance Certificate so I can send that with my federal application.

I am also waiting for FBI...I called them and l was so surprise it takes so long a timeeeeeeeee....I have gotten the others from my other countries l have lived in...but FBI is remaining...what do you think?..When did you apply for your CSQ? and how long did it take?

I got mine 21st March from same dude...yes he is very very nice and simple...I got my interview date 2weeks after l recieved my waiting list letter...but l got my intervies date by email and was given 60 days to attend the interview.

Congratulations to you as well. That's great, can you share the email ID from where you received the email. I am so nervous that It might just go in the junk mail and I might not even notice it. I'll have to check my mails carefully now.

Yeah, I think the FBI said it will take around 8-10 weeks or so. Such a pain! But until I get that back from the FBI, I have to wait to send in my application - oh well.

I applied for my CSQ back in October 2010 - and I just had my interview on March 23, 2012 where I received my CSQ. About a year and half from the time I applied. How long did it take for you?

I know!! They 'received' my application in January (not sure why that received date was so long from the time I applied) and they stated that with me applying during the holidays, that substantially delayed the time. Who knows...I am just glad to have received my CSQ now

Thank you very much for the information! i am nervous about the interview now as I am not prepared for it at all. I did mention in the file that I know "Basic" french - but honestly have recently started studying.

Few questions:
Tips for preparing for the interview?
How much French should i know to qualify for Basic French?
For the interview date notification - will that be via email or snail mail?
