Hello everyone,

I'm a bit confused as to what the new rules would do to CRS. My score according to old rules was 438(IELTS: L8.5 R9 S7 W7.5/Total 6+ years Indian experience). I am from India and do not have either a Canadian degree or a valid job offer.

What I understand is that there would be a change in the CRS only if:
1) The candidate has a Canadian degree; or
2) The candidate has a valid job offer

Otherwise, there would not be any change in the score. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also, please point out if the changes we need to make in the EE profile according to new rules. I'm utterly confused as of now.

Thanks & Regards.

Hello Guys,

I have 467 points right now. But as far as I know I should be getting 15 points towards my Canadian education
because I have done my Post-Grad (full time) here.

So to get 15 extra points what I am supposed to do? Should I withdraw my existing profile and refill everything
again?

or my score will update by itself?

Hi All,

I am on open WP having a contract job. Am I eligible to get 50 points ?
No, not without an lmia. Only those who have worked for a year on a work permit which lists the employer on it.

I would be joining an employer in Canada in a month and they have filed for my work permit. Would that offer letter be sufficient for me to get additional 50 points or 1 year working in Canada is mandatory?

1 year in Canada is needed, unless you have an lmia.

Has ABC been working full-time for the employer on their current work permit for at least one year? (Or for an equal amount of part time work?)
YES
Since your permit is ICT, to this question, does it pertain to 1 year working in Canada or 1 year working with the same employer across Canada and other country. I am presuming you would have been employed by this employer in other country before coming to canada

Yes, in terms that my closed work permit is valid till 14 Sept 2018. If you have a job offer then only WP is extended. I hope i got your question right. Lot of confusion right now regarding these 50 points.
I may be wrong here but the question "Do you have a job offer" is to confirm your eligibility to get 50 points. I read here that having a WP does not necessarily mean you have a job offer. Quote form CIC ...
"A work permit on its own is not a job offer, even if it is an open work permit"

Having an LMIA still assures 600 points after this new rule?
Nope,
50 points only or 200 points for 00.. NOC (there are only 6 NOC under these codes).

Only if you have been working under a work permit with that employer listen on it. Otherwise you will need an lmia.
