I'm Canadian citizen, living close to Ottawa. Born in Kerala, but grew up in Vadodara, Gujarat.
My wife is from Kerala, but grew up in Mumbai currently living there.

so getting all the calls on the same day from the same person almost on the same time was not the only common thing both of our case, the new common thing is Vadodara....

Are you ready for tomorrow... if i am correct you will receive passport tomorrow..... I wish everything goes smoothly ....

I am really happy for those who got phone calls from Visa Officer....But plzz stop giving out their name on the PUBLIC FORUM.
This will annoy them and they will stop calling the applicants even if it is an emergency and instead send an e-mail...
If tomorrow everybody/applicants started calling randomly NDVO and asking for this xxxxx guy dont you think they will be suspicious?
I request you to stop giving out critical information about the Visa Officers as they are ONLY meant for the people who received the call.

I think one should not disclose contact numbers too as far as possible, that's also quite annoying. They are already processing files at a slow pace.

I think you should post this in main thread, as there is some limitations related to Gold jewelry. Be sure to declare it in India.

you can wear all the jewelry you have and you just need to tell them how much you have worth on you.

If you carry them in luggage the customs will charge you an also the limit is considerable as you are not going to have say 50 tolas or so.

i can share what my friend did and what my wife gonna do,, she gonna carry all her jwellery, (not all of them, some will kept in india too ) in purse and she will put on all her jwellery before landing here, coming out of flight ... this is what few my friends did and i am planning do the same.... during the security checks its easy to keep them in purse because of metal detectors ... and bip bip bip... any thing that you have on your body (not excessive) is absolutely ok and no problem in that ....

Yesterday my wife landed of YYZ Toronto. No problem was faced at immigration either in India or Canada. And she was carrying all her gold & diamond jewellery in a box in her purse and no body asked her any question about that. When landing first time u are permitted to carry any amount of gold or other valuables but u just have to declare them at the immigration counter to be safe....
