Dear hmisabpk
Thank you very much for sharing the valuble info for beginners and your personal experiences which is helping all of us a lot.
Your advice is requested on an issue.
Due to the medical expiry issue, it seems that I will have to travel to Toronto on short notice after issuance of visa. I would prefer to move on permanant basis after a few months. Therefore, planning to visit toronto for a short period now. Is it possible to stay only a three weeks in toronto and get back to home. As for as i know, the PR card is delivered in 4-6 weeks after landing. Is it safe to leave Toronto before aquiring PR card?

regards,

Hi Khalidcivil,

You need to have your PR card to re-enter Canada once you do your landing. If you have someone very trustworthy and reliable, then you can think of getting the PR card forwarded to you by some means. In any case, this option of forwarding is not recommended. It is worth to stay back in Canada during this period of 4-6 weeks to familiarize with everything there so that when you plan to come back with your family after few months, you don't have to struggle exploring for basics...Good luck.

Q). How did you managed your Cargo / Luggage when you travelled/landed for the first time in Canada.
Shaikhzees : I sent my luggage by Kuwait airways cargo, through private cargo company. Check the local cargo for good deals and rates.

khalidcivil :
• Yes it is possible.
• Yes it is safe
Leaving Canada without waiting for PR cards arrival not a problem, entering back to Canada you need PR card. Sometime could be a picture issue which may further delay the card delivery.
If you are leaving before card arrival than you need someone who can receive your card and mail to you back home.

Hope that helps,

For job chances check the following links you will have idea where are the more jobs.
If you feel you are able to get required point you should apply FSW if not than provincial.

You must check self-assessment test to see if you are able to score required 67 points. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assess/index.asp

Hi DSD,

If you are in FSW category you can land and work in any part of Canada (except Quebec), and if you are in provincial category you will have some restriction. Details are on website.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/quebec/index.asp
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/index.html

If you have done the assessment and determine that you meet the eligibility criteria for QSW you can think to go ahead. It is French speaking province and you need French language for employment or working there. If you want to see your profession is listed in new category you have to wait till January.

GET ONE HOUR EXTRA SLEEP

Interesting article:
Daylight Savings Time: Falling back can have sleep side effects

The end of daylight-saving time this Sunday will allow an extra hour of beauty sleep, but not without some pesky effects.

“Some people don’t think that an hour has any impact at all on your body and that’s not true,” says Dr. Colleen Carney, a sleep specialist who teaches at Ryerson University, and is director of the Sleep and Depression Laboratory................................................................................................see more
