Now that's weird, this is the response I got from them:

the "contact us" button in PAL's website. that was May 2nd.

More than one of us has posted here, and from personal experience with PAL, that you do NOT deplane in Vancouver to clear customs and get back on the plane. While you are allowed off the plane while there, you must remain in the prescribed Gate area.
