How do I actually talk to a person with my questions at the London High Commission? I just go around in circles with a voicemail thing and can't speak to anyone. Do I have to send an email?

My partner and his dependent son had their medicals yesterday and the doctor filled in my name as the principal applicant when I am the sponsor and my partner is the principal applicant. So it is wrong. I tried to get it changed but he was busy with the next patient. The nurse asked him on our behalf but he said as I was the sponsor, I was the main applicant...which I know is wrong. He said it was fine and would go through. It better go through as that cost us over £600! I hardly slept last night worrying if this was going to cause us problems. I will attach a note to explain the situation but I would like to actually speak to someone to see if they will reject our application. I hear they are so picky, I am worried sick. The doctor even had the form filled out by us right in front of him which he didn't even read. Think my partner misunderstood the question too in his nervousness! Agggghhhh!

I believe you have to email or write to the london office. I could never get ahold of anyone on the phones when i was trying to change my address, just email about once a week if you don't get some kind of reply...they're not very good at answering so be VERY clear in what your asking. And try to only ask one or two questions, or many will likely go unanswered...

Thanks so much for your reply. I can't believe what a user unfriendly process this is. Our future is in this stupid doctors hands and I can't do anything about it except see if they will answer an email or sit here for months and worry whether this will affect our application!

Yeah and you can bet if it needs something changing the doctor will try to charge you even more! -.-;

I thought i was done with it after i landed but they lost my PR card documents n photos so just had to pay for yet more, so i can totally relate to how ridiculous all this is...if i were you i'd be calling the doctor daily saying you've spoken to london and they've said its not right so it needs to be corrected asap

I have decided to just write a letter and attach to the forms to explain what actually happened and that the doctor refused to change it. We can't help it if he won't do his job properly and they are the ones who tell us which doctors we can see. It had better not reject though or I will haunt the man! :mad:

Lol yup sounds like a good idea, and if you can get the dr to send you a letter from him saying he thinks its fine too that would prolly help aswell...my doctor was pretty helpful in the scheme of things so maybe yours will be if you ask them to state they know better than the visa office on paper lol

The doctor was probably thinking of federal skilled worker applications, where one spouse is the principal applicant, and the other spouse and any children are going along as part of that application. You often hear of receptionists at the DMPs' offices getting the requirements for the different types of applications mixed up.
Do all you can to notify CIC of this. Include an explanation in your application, notify the London visa office by email and letter.

Hi there, try communicating to the London Immigration office via this website

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/visas/contact_visa_contactez.aspx?lang=eng

I think this is the best way to get a response from them. The website also includes all the info you need to provide them to ensure that your information gets to the right IO. Hopefully they can contact the doctor who completed your documents and request for them to update the paperwork :)

I called them just fine and got through, I tried all numbers and got through with the 0207-258-6600 number the 1st time. And I was calling from Canada. But I did also email before calling and got a reply in 3 days. So either works.
