They will not issue an OWP until you get pass 1st stage, get AIP letter first, despite the 6 month wait according to website.

Hi there! My DM letter was dated march 07. And i got letter from Vancouver office dated april 8. Hope this can help you!!

You should feel lucky you are on the right track to stay here in Canada, I have seen some getting really anxious about getting appt after DM , or getting AIP , some of you are really lucky that took less than a year for DM, mine took exactly year and one month, Im not saying this is fun or things like "enjoy the ride" because it isn't fun at all, but it is what it is right, after all this is "the group of very patient people" . Or you should take a look at the 2010 or 2011 inlands , there are some still waiting for over 2 years .

Sorry if some ppl don't like what I said, but I think you should try to relax this will be over.

I totally agree with Karito.

I got my landing date and will be July 24th in Calgary. The process will be completed in about 16 months for me. I has been (and still is) a long wait but I am happy and grateful to be here. The hardest thing for me was waiting for the OWP, I could not stand being at home and not work. But a couple of weeks after I got my OWP I was lucky to find a job and I didn't think too much about the application.

Please don't let it seem as if we're being unfairly impatient @sunsun and karito we are not impatient withoutaa reason. Some folks have to sit down and wait until the entire process is done in order to get a job. Are we impatient?

Wonderful news! I got the DM letter e-mailed to me yesterday, Apr 19 - which also just happens to be my husband's birthday! My birthday is actually on Wednesday of next week - what a wonderful birthday present for both of us!
It looks like I'm waiting for a call from the Hamilton office, too. I wonder how long that'll take. I guess I need to call immigration to find out.

I'm so excited! I didn't expect this for a long time. They must really be working their butts off for this.

although i have been busy with my new job,i still keep on checking this forum.. congrats for all the dm's and AIP's! jiggy,yours will come very soon then u can find a job and forget for awhile your dm.lol i am getting tired of checking ecas 5-6 times everyday that's everytime i see people reporting thier ecas had changed ---really really crazy!---..i'll just wait for my turn..for now,i'll enjoy the new job. WHAT IS MEANT TO BE,MEANT TO BE.. Have a great weekend my dear friends!!!

@jiggy You are not being impatient. I understand the importance of getting a job right now. Yours will be coming very soon and maybe even DM at same time. My husband is very anxious to get the OWP with AIP, that's what we are focusing on right now. Keep the faith.

thanks very much Nigea, but the four walls of the house can get quite frustrating at times. I'm tired of being tired of being tired of being tired doing the same thing. When you know you are always out there and then you are confined it can get very frustrating to the point you wanna just cry :'(

Believe me there is only so much cleaning you can do and the winter has been so long and not being able to work takes its toll. But at least you are almost there. I am a month and a half behind you. They should be working on yours now.
