hi, today I received my FOSS notes. I picked it up in canada post office. There are 100 pages including all of my stuff since I came to Canada.
Here is a question,hopfully someone could help me :-*
one page it show me like
2011 Apr,11 File transferred from registry
2001 Apr 11, IMM0703 RCMP CHECK COMPLETED-PASSED
2011 APR,12 File transferred from registry
and nothing
Did you guys know transfer from registy to where? It did not measion security check.
but,when i call to CIC, they told me my file is security check now.

where you guys know CIC do the security check on foss notes??

Transferred from registry means an IO took it out and looked at your file. April 11 it was brought out of the filing system, they attached your RCMP check on the same date and I think April 12 it was put back on the filing system again.

Yup we ordered it on May 3. Hubby's FOSS notes doesn't have anything about security check when the FOSS notes were printed and sent to us. I'm not sure if it came later though because we never requested for another set of FOSS. All I can tell you is that they completed his RCMP check on Feb 22 and we got approved on May 30 for both stages.

Yup we ordered it on May 3. Hubby's FOSS notes doesn't have anything about security check when the FOSS notes were printed and sent to us. I'm not sure if it came later though because we never requested for another set of FOSS. All I can tell you is that they completed his RCMP check on Feb 22 and we got approved on May 30 for both stages.

For your case,the IQ is good, he order the RCMP check before AIPand DM
For me, see, they ordered after AIP :'(

"File transferred from registry" is completely normal. That is just any time that the IO has touched your file.
When did you call about the security checks? Before or after ordering FOSS notes? I never got to see either my RCMP check or security check being done but I am going to order another copy for prosperity reasons after getting my PR card. I know though that my security checks were approved 2 days after AIP though. Maybe your security checks are taking longer because you may have lived in several places after age 18, had several study/work permits, worked several places, worked for government or political groups, you might not be from a visa exempt country, etc. I could keep going really. I just hope they finish yours soon though. At least if it finishes before their average of 9 months than you know you are good to go.

yes LY you're right, maybe i have several study/work permits, and they will check carefully, and my country is not a visa exempt.
I called CIC last week, they told me my file still in security check.

HELLO EVERYONE!!!


I submitted an application for Permanent Residency under the Family Class Sponsorship. My boyfriend sponsored me under the Common-Law Class, and along with that application, He also sponsored my son, who's 8 years old right now, & is still in the Philippines.

Here's my timeline, as per E-CAS:


We received your application for permanent residence on September 2, 2010.

We started processing your application on October 22, 2010.

Medical results have been received.

We received the requested information on January 10, 2011. Thank you for providing the information.

A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

We sent you a letter on June 9, 2011 to (my address) about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.


*** After 2 weeks, my boyfriend & I received the letters from the Case Processing Centre in Vegreville. And here's what's stated on my letter:

It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status as a member of the spouse or common law partner in Canada class. However, a final decision will not be made until all requirements for becoming a permanent resident has been met. These requirements include medical, security, and background checks for you, and if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you and all your family members have met these requirements.
Our office in Manila will be contacting your family members. In the meantime, if you are in contact with your family members please encourage them to comply with all the requests from the visa office as their compliance will help to ensure timely processing of your application.


*** So there, that was some of the important information stated in my letter. Along with it was my Open Work Permit as well.
I was told by CIC that my son's application has been forwarded to their office in Manila. So I checked the Canadian Embassy in manila website, & based on what I read on their processing times, it will take about 6 months to process my son's application.
Im just wondering though, in cases like these, do I get the final decision for my PR as soon as my son's PR application gets approved/finalized? Or are there cases wherein I get mine finalized first before his? Normally, how long is the processing time for both our cases?

Please help. ???

I saw everyone got medical approved either before AIP or with AIP but me. I am so frustrated. so I want to order FOSS note to see whats going on there. can anyone tell me how to do it?
