Any more news yet anyone? I got my landing appointment letter from the local office today, just 3 days after DM. Letter is dated 1 day after DM. I will land the 2nd week of December. Christmas as a PR! We couldn't be any more delighted, wrapping up the year with this long and drawn out process finally ending.

Hi Deutschbug I am seeing your timeline below your name, you saying Visa Issued November 2013, what do you mean? Visa for travel before DM and Landing Appointment?

Hi Peter, it's the DM date, no need for a visa because I'm already here and exempt anyway. The DM just moved to the line below the date because the preset formatting doesn't really work well for us inlanders.

Hi. I am asking because I want to travel for the holidays with my wife, and she still has no DM or landing interview.

I applied for permanent resident as a protected person in 2012 during the process of my permanent resident i changed my marital status as common law partner to married on august 2013. My file was transferred to the local office in edmonton. I got AIP in in july 2013. I was told by CPC vegreville that my file is gonna take 24 months to be processed. I would like to know how or where can i send more evidence of my relationship to this office. I am pretty sure they have doubts about my relationship. I need the address and phone number of this office anybody know it ?

I have been waiting 18 months and now i have to wait 24 months. This is annoying. I don't know if i have to wait 24 months even if i got AIP. Approved in principle. Thanks

Hello Computergeek, I do have a question that I appreciate if you have the right answer for me. I have landed @ Etobicoke office in November and according to cic timeline will receive my PR card first week of Jan 2014. However I want to make short trip for New Year and already have work permit and multiple entry visa valid till end 2014, my question is can I travel with that visa or it automatically canceled when landed and must wait for PR card arrival. Thank you

Wow.. I'm actually sadden to read how many of you guys are still waiting for 2 years and over... I'm 2012 applicant and thought I was the only one waiting seeing even all the 2013 applicants getting AIP?DM/ and PRs.. but I'm actually very touched.. why is CIC doing that to us... and for ppl who applied in 2013 are already receiving their landing dates too... and we are all still waiting. count me in guys my husband and I are and have been waiting for god knows how long more we have to wait... we did however after 20 months receive our AIP/DM and my hubby got his OWP. we were called for an interview too... now we are waiting for his PR after we submit to CIC his FBI Certificate from the states... Hang on in there guys Patience is a Virtue. and your patience will pay off in good terms I'm praying and hoping that the new years will bring us all good news best wishes and all the very best to all of you. Hey guys I have a story to share with you, so I called CIC today and asked about the status of my application the guy put me on hold for like 10 min, and then he told me that they sent me a letter through email on July 2013 asking me to redrew my medicals, I didn't receive that email so he told me that it was most probably in my junk email which offcorse I can't find anyway he said to call back if I didn't find it and theyll send me a letter which will take almost 2 weeks to get to get here, he told everything is done security, background and everything were just waiting on medical so am hoping am gonna be done soon. And for all you guys who are still waiting I think you should conatact cic and double check with them every once in a while because you'll never know anything checking your application status online I wish all you guys the best and I'll keep you guys posted

Have you contacted the MP for your riding? Six months wait for a local appointment sounds like something is wrong. Or send a letter to the local office and ask them what's going on. Some people have done this and obtained a response rather quickly.

So 16 months into stage 2 and still no word from CIC.My file was transferred to the Montreal local office in Oct 2012 after receiving AIP for further review.Its obvious that the further reviews being conducted are with respect to background checks as I have already received my AIP.

Here's the fun part. CIC vegreville transferred my file without the police certificate that I had sent to them as requested by the AIP letter. Whats even more absurd is that no one from Montreal contacted me , to bring this important blunder to my attention. It was a random call to the call center to get an update on my file that revealed that Montreal did not receive my police certificate. This is 7 months after Montreal received my file by the way. So I resent everything to Montreal, and in the cover letter literally begged them to acknowledge the receipt of the document via mail, or email. Alas not a word. My meds have been expired for 4 months, and no one wants me to do them again.

Its safe to assume the bas#$%ds have lost my file. Thinking of filing for manmadus....(dont think i spelt it correctly though).....any suggestions ppl ....should I????

At 16 months into stage 2 you have reasonable grounds for concern. And a plausible case for Mandamus. From what I can tell, very few Mandamus cases make it to hearing because CIC treats litigation files differently (I can see this in the case notes for my file during litigation).
