Inland Application 2011

Hello, does anyone know if it is okay to change the home address in the middle of application process without changing the mailing address?

I am considering changing our home address to a friend's place in a different area where the local immigration office is processing landing interviews faster.

Has anyone had experience with changing their address during the application process?

I am concerned because they might ask some kind of proof of the new address.

What do you think guys?

I would appreciate any opinions.

thanks

I just checked ecas, not expecting any change, as usual, and then I saw this:

We received your application for permanent residence on May 30, 2011.

We started processing your application on June 8, 2011.

A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

So then I checked my ecas (sponsor) and sponsorship application status says "decision made":

We sent you a letter on May 8, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

...and PR status says "in process", but once I opened it, it says:

We received XXXXX's application for permanent residence on May 30, 2011.

We started processing XXXXX's application on June 8, 2011.

A decision has been made and XXXXX will be contacted.

OMG I am so excited!!!!!
Great News. Congrats :)

But do you guys knw wht kind of interview happens wht they ask and
wht are they looking for kinda thing???and wht happens after the interview takes place...

Thanks
The interview as we said, it would be a relationship assessment to make sure your husband and wife relationship is genuine. That means you should prepare everything to prove that you're a true married couple. I guess you can search a lot of relating questions in this forum too. I can copy for you some brief info from other thread here and you can do the rest.

For those who are getting Ready For Interview ( Recent Interview of luckjinx from Inland 2010 Forum)

I don't mind sharing at all, I think it would of been extremely useful to know some of this information before attending the interview.
Firstly, It isn't as intimidating as some people think it is ( we were one of those). The immigration officer doing our interview was very pleasant/kind but she was down to the point and definitly did her job.

What initially happens is, she will call both the sponsor and applicant in the room together. She will verify your names , birthdates. She will ask you for the documents she would of requested in the letter she sent out with your interview times ie. bank statements/tax returns/pictures/emails etc etc....
She will briefly go through those asking a few questions here and there about them if she chooses.
Then she tells one of you to leave the room while she interviews the other. ( usually the person who is interviewed first is the applicant because they need to verify some things that were redflags/faulty ). That took about 1.5hrs. Then, she will interview the sponsor, which took about 30 mins (in our case anyway).

So that's how it kinda happens..... As for the questions :

- What is some type of landmark that is located near were you live? (ex. a mural on a wall, a big fountain, a shopping center)
- What are some of your spouses hobbies?
- What did you do together this weekend?
- What did you have for dinner last night?
- Do you know some history on your spouse?( why did they come to Canada , how did they come to canada , if they are inland)
- Where did your spouse go to school?
- How did you first meet? (this was important... it seems simple but apparently is a big question for em)
- Who takes care of the finances in the home?
- Who cooks?
- How much is each of your bills roughly... example: Hydro /telus/shaw/rent/insurance ....
Ohh, another thing is know all your timelines!!!! Very important. Whether its travelling back and forth, certain events that both affected you....they will ask the question and sometimes re ask in a different way to see if you slip up or something....

"Those are a few questions that stick out in my mind. It was very laid back and is just easy if you are a legitimate couple. Mind you we did not answer them all the same or correct some times. But they overall have to have a feeling that you are an actual couple.

At the very end , when she finished my interview, she said that "I will mail a letter to you with a decision being made and that she will approve our application"
We were sooooooooo happy.
I know this is long, but I feel like If i had someone write this out in detail before my interview i would of been calm and prepared.
I hope this helps someone in the future!
Here are some typical questions collected somewhere I really don't remember the source. Hope you can imagine what kind of info they're going to ask.

Here is the experience was shared around this forum
Here is how it all went:

Both my wife and I were requested to be at the interview for those who don't know me I'm the sponsor. Knowing that we have an interview and after getting help from the wonderful people on here I started putting together a binder that had all the proof of our relationship I made sure it was neat and tidy , I had a lot of pictures developed at Wal-Mart about 75 before marriage and 84 after. We got there about an hour and 15 min earlier we waited until it was about 8:10 in the morning that's when the officer cam out and called my wife's name offcourse we were nervous and stressed out but my first impression of the officer was that she was ok and didn't seem to be too grumpy we all went into the booth together where she sat down behind a computer and introduced herself than she began gathering all the information and proof that we had put together By the time she was done with the papers she started browsing through the pictures she asked my wife a couple of questions about the pictures the questions were:

Who are those people in this pic?
where was this?

There weren't too many questions though, after that she said ok now Im going to start asking questions about your relationship but I'm not sure if I'm going to separate you.(I think by the time she went through the proof I had prepared she was 95% sure that our marriage is real) she didn't ask too many questions here are some of which I remember:

Where and when did you meet? And how did your relationship develop?
Do any of you have any scars or birth marks?
What are your plans for the future?

We answered those questions together sometimes I would ask her if she wanted me to answer or my wife and her response was that it doesn't matter so we were comfortable first that we were together and second because the officer was great! After she was done she went to make a couple of copies of some of my wife's ID and of the marriage licence (I forgot to include a copy but I had the originals with me).

When she came back I had a little box of collectables from our relationship I have collected them back from university when our relationship first started (I'm not a psycho but we were madly in love) in the box I had tissues that had different scents of perfume that my wife used I had a paper which had a drawing of her hand , lipstick, parts of paper cups that had marks that were made by her lipstick and a piece of her hair an so on....

The officer smiled when I was showing her the collectables and asked to see some of the stuff after that she said I would like to inform you that I will be granting you AIP and you will be receiving a letter with in two weeks. hats when a big smile drew over our faces and I felt a strange feeling in my chest that feeling was slowly creeping to my legs (I wanted to get out of there before I start jumping up and down like an idiot)
She escorted us out I think i said a million thankyous along the way !!And that was it I know were not done yet but it was a big relief and also a very important step in our process.

153. If I refuse this application w hat will you do?
First she some questions to both of us. Question about our address and about some pictures we sent earlier. She requested some recent pics, if we have them, and we did, although they didn't ask for them in the Call-in noticed.

Then she asked my husband to step outside and interview me alone.

She asked about my hubby's job, about his family about our friends. She asked me about his previous marriage and if i knew if it was a bona fide marriage or a bogus one. I answer the truth, i told her all that i know about her first marriage and all the drama involved (he told me the whole story rigth at the begining of our relationship).

She asked me to describe ouyr home and neighborhood. She asked about our future plans (babies or no babies). She asked me if my family and his family are aware of our relationship.

After all those questions (aprox 45 mins), she went outside and bring him to the room and proceed to interview him. I went out. After 15 mins or so she asked to come back and then she told us that she will be granting us an AIP and we should received in the mail within 2 weeks.

In the meantime we are trying to get the constancia from mexico. Hopefully after that we will received our landing interview.

I would appreciate any opinions.

thanks
Yeah, as CIC stated, you can freely change your physical address and simply just update them (or on eCas or call them directly).
However, I would recommend changing address if and only if you have to. That means you have to move to the new place. Or else, I wouldn't put it in risk because if the update process delays, I may deal with losing important mails or info.

And I guess your concern is counted too, they may ask for confirmation like bank draft or proof. If you really wish to change it, change everything and make sure it's real. That way will be much safer though. Just my 2 cents. (I'm considering changing my address too, changing for real because I need to move out of the current noisy apt. However, I'm still thinking and really want to wait until my app. is done though. To me, it's better to not make any risk ourselves, dealing with CIC mystery alone is already a big burden.)

The interview as we said, it would be a relationship assessment to make sure your husband and wife relationship is genuine. That means you should prepare everything to prove that you're a true married couple. I guess you can search a lot of relating questions in this forum too. I can copy for you some brief info from other thread here and you can do the rest.

Here are some typical questions collected somewhere I really don't remember the source. Hope you can imagine what kind of info they're going to ask.

Here is the experience was shared around this forum
Here is another list of questions and I think the list repeats a lot of questions above. You may have to filter though.

Thanks so much for your help hatrang, this helped out a lot,i will start preparing my docs but the only question how long does it take now them to write to me or tell whats next because i herd cic file which is transferd takes time to get re open again,so i dunno wqht to say on tht,is there some how we can get to knw whts going on nd how long will they take to open the file nd do work on it??

Thanks

Does anyone know what the next steps are? We also applied for a work permit, when should we expect that?
