Is this true that Damascus is speeding up the process only for spouses of citizens?

I don't think they mean only citizens. I think they mean everyone applying for PR, even if the one sponsoring is a PR.

i think it is a good idea. He can go there and ask them. Or at least see the situation. Is it possible for him to go out of Hams?

my husband is a permanent resident he'll become a citizen in few months. don't worry!

Yessssssssssss, my wife got the PPR yesterday.

Mohammad_AB and Marry are green now.
It took one complete year less 7 days from the time our file was transferred to Damascus.

6 PPR till mid of Dec. I hope every thing stay establish till we can get our visas too.

The 5 calendar days is for a TEMPORARY VISA. They are processing those faster to try to help people get out of the country quickly with the proper documentation. I have in the past called CIC about this and was told that if the embassey closes for a long period the files are transferred, if they close for a short period they just sit and wait. I think all of you with spouses in Syria should apply asap for a visitor visa, it sounds like due to the situation they will help get spouses of citizens out quickly (process the visitor visa in 5 days) Rams even if you were denied before i think u should reapply, the situation is different now and I think that influences them to approve more. My thoughts and prayers to all of you with spouses in Syria. stay strong!

Hi Ramz27, tell your husband to call the embassy see what they can do for him. I am sure that he will be able the have a visa in 5 open days. We will see what will happen for us. I wish that they will speed the process due to the situation in syria. Good Luck everyone for the next week.
