guyssssss oh MY GOOODD!! i received a phone call this morning @ 8h30 it was the lady from the embassy, i got my visaaaaa ahhhhhhhh!!
she said they are giving most of the visas before christmas ;D ;D ;D and that i needed to go before 22december youpiiiiiiii, im still chocked

sooooooooooooorry, small correction, actually he can be outside Canada for 3 years every 5 years this is copy paste from the guide...they don't say anything about after how long u can leave Canada....

"Leaving Canada to settle your affairs after obtaining permanent resident status

Permanent residents may leave and re-enter Canada as often as they wish, to settle their affairs or to travel, as long as, at the time they re-enter Canada, they can prove that they have been physically present in Canada for at least 730 days within the five years preceding the day they re-enter, if they have been permanent residents for five years or more, or that they will be physically present in Canada for at least 730 days within the five years immediately following the day they became permanent residents, if they have been permanent residents for less than five years. Permanent residents outside Canada may also meet the residency obligation if certain conditions apply."

One issue is that you should have your PR card for re-entry, and it might get 3 months to receive it. When I became PR, the officer told me that if I want to leave Canada its better to wait to receive the PR card, otherwise it is hard to re-enter Canada. If you want, they will issue you a paper that permits you for re-entry without having the PR card. But the officer told me that airline agents might not allow you to get on on the airplane without the PR card, even with that paper. That was my experience from 2010.

hey guys is it true that after someone gets their PR they cannot leave the country for more than 6 months??

What if my hubby needs to leave after 3 weeks of landing in Canada to tie up some loose ends back home before settling down here in Canada!? is that going to be a problem!??!!
