Canada Sept intake applicants waiting for visa

Hello, I have applied for study permit through VFS for the September intake in Canada. I am expecting the visa probably this week or the next. However, I have been offered a more preferred course in a different University from January 2018. When I receive my visa, if I change the details online through cic.gc.ca, will it be enough?

I have applied 16/july via online. I did biometric july 18. it is under processing
