1) Is there anyway to sponsor your parents to become Permanent Residences in Canada?

2) Is there anyway to sponsor your siblings to become PR in Canada?

I apologize in advance, I did try to search this topic, but did not find a good answer. If someone does know of a good link to a forum on this already please do share.

1) Yes you can. Did you see the thread "Sponsoring Parents in 2015"? It's usually on page 1 somewhere. There's a cap each year. You would have to plan to send your application next year to be received on January 4th 2016, that's how fast the cap is reached.

2) The only way to sponsor siblings is to sponsor your parents, (the application would include your parents and their dependents).

Just to add...

1) You need three years of income for Canadian sources that meets the low income cut off.
2) The siblings also have to be under 19 years old and unmarried.

Thank you for the response! Once my husband is in Canada, we will definitely have to look at those options!

Much appreciated!

That is great information! Thank you! If you apply and the siblings are under 19 at time of application submission..... will they still be able to come if they are over 19 by the time the application process is completed? As I do see on CIC website it could take up to 10 years for approval for both sponsor and principal applicant.

Thank in advance for the information!

Yes - provided the application to sponsor your parents (which includes the siblings) is received before your siblings turn 19 and provided your siblings remain unmarried and do not enter into a common law relationship with anyone until they land in Canada and become PRs. Note that it will be at least four years from the time you land in Canada to the time you will be able to sponsor your parents (and any siblings) for PR.

Add to scylla's posts, you not only have meet 3 years of LICO, you also have to continue to meet LICO annually until your parents/siblings land as PR. If you have any more children or your siblings have any children, your family size would increase and must meet the new increased LICO based on new family size until PR is granted.

Everyone has been most helpful. I am a Canadian citizen and my husband will soon be a PR.

Just want to clarify....

1) Can I apply for my inlaws?

2) If I am my husbands cosigner, does he still have to haver four years residency in Canada before he applies for them?

Thank you again!

Your spouse must be the primary sponsor, and you can be a co-sponsor.

No, he can apply immediately after becoming PR. Can use income entirely from co-signer (you). Although this would require your Canadian income (as co-signer) to meet the parents LICO based on your family size, for the past 3 years (or 1 year if in Quebec based on current rules).

Note the 2016 parents program should open on Jan 4, 2016. Most likely CIC will receive will over 5000 application on the first day. So they will probably use a lottery type system to determine who makes the 5000 cap and who doesn't. If they don't, it basically means only people who live around CPC-Mississauga will be able to make the cut and people sending in apps from somewhere like Vancouver, will find it almost impossible.
