is the security checks the last step before asking the passport ? ( i think ), and how long long does it take ? , because my file recently has been sent back to Cairo vo from Ottawa .
and has anybody been having a trouble checking the online application statues ? , it says :

We were not able to identify you using the information you provided .

yes the security check comes at the end of the process . and then when its clear they ask for the passport to stamp the visa on. No one knows how long the security check takes. might take one month up to few months depends on your travel history and military service if u have been to any.
for the online statues yea i have been having trouble signing in and lots of other members. so i guess its a system error,

so please what does it mean about sending it back to Cairo vo from Ottawa ? ( it was firstly sent to Cairo like the approval letter says then they sent it to Ottawa ) , then at 26/1/2013 back to Cairo .

well as i assume. i would think that when they have backlog of files. they send the straightforward files to Ottawa to reduce the pressure on the embassy.. i am not sure why they return it to Cairo though. Anyway nothing to worry about, your file is in the right place anyways.

How did you know that your file is back to Cairo! did they send you an email ! or did you call them, and they told you that!

So ur file was in ottawa then to Cairo? I heard they are processing the whole files in Ottawa cuz if the back log ! Is that correct?

I believe Ottawa has been helping 'catch up' the back log.

The rep I spoke with at CIC told me that special cases or circumstances in cases is the reason. Then the files are being sent to the original VO. The security checks are done and interview if required. Medical redo would be asked if needed or possibly extended. Then the final decision is made.

I think if that is the case then that you are coming to the end of the process.

another question, after receiving the sponsorship letter with our file number, whats the chances of accepting visit visa if I applied.
I just wanna go visit him my Easter and return back to my job till PR gets done

As of right now with the emassy being closed there is no way for you to even submit an application for a TRV. That being said the chances are slim. I'm sorry to say that. You can try, there is no harm in that. If you do, you will really need to show ties to your country. And full intent to return to it. As it is though your ties to your spouse are stronger in the eyes of the VO.

Some members have tried and even after a refusal or two have been approved for a TRV.

someone told me that as long as i have file number and UCI i should get the visa without any complications :S

You can search the forum, you will see then that 'someone' was misled. Its not to say you will be denied. Just that it can be difficult to get.

And like I said with the embassy being closed it isn't an option at the moment.

the approval letter says Cairo then ater emailing them many time they said they sent it to Ottawa then after long time i emailed them asking about my file and asking them about the new October system they said we sent it to cairo , about me i hope it's for the last steps , i've no idea honestly
