BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

Hi Folks,

I need your help to filling the form IMM5713E for spousal open work permit.

Actually, I open different mycic account for my wife and she is filling online application for herself and my son. I got the BOWP but online system will also ask to fill the IMM5713E form (USE OF A FAMILY MEMBER REPRESENTATIVE FOR ONLINE APPLICATIONS)

What I need to fill in the following field if my wife is going to submit her spousal work permit.
Section A – Question 1 2 and 3
Section B –Granting permission to the family member representative

Will appreciate it your response.

1) I did SOWP but not able to recall Q 1,2,3 can you plz paste Q here (may be I can able help you )
2) I selected No for Section B, in my case . But if you select Yes , In that case You have to submit some other use of representative form . Bottom line to make process simple I will suggest select NO

If you select NO option to grant permission to any of family member , i believe this Q 1,2,3 will not appear (at least in my case it did not appeared )
But if your spouse decided too select Yes and providing you as family member to represent her/Him provide your details . i.e Name, DOB etc.

But I will still suggest NO option
But choice is yours

You need this form because your wife is applying for your son as well.

On section A. Write her name as the representative of the family and your son's name on members of the family.

I just call the CIC regarding my original BOWP letter. They have some issue with printer and not able to delivery yet.

Today they are going to delivery. What a nice process?

What did you explain for getting the BOWP? can you share some details?

I sent the BOWP application by courier so that it would arrive about three days before the expiration of my old work permit (I arbitrarily chose that buffer). I included the application form, relevant documents, and a covering letter. In the letter I stated that I was an applicant for PR under the CEC class and that my CEC application was received by the CIO on July 17, 2014. I stated that my AOR was expected imminently and I requested that they check the status of my application in GCMS.

After that, it was just a waiting game. I provided my employer with a copy of my BOWP application and a copy of my AOR when I received it since I was on implied status. Unfortunately when you apply on paper there isn't any way to get an update until you either receive an email that you are denied or you receive the actual permit.

Are there any members on this forum who have applied for a BOWP after receiving AOR through CEC and have obtained it successfully since it was launched? Can you folks please enlighten us as some members recently shared their stories of rejection going with the assumption that the AOR qualifies as pass for BOWP.

Guys my application got approved!!! My CIC application status is closed now and it says that the application has been approved!!

Timelines:

Applied online: October, 16th , 2014
Approved: November 10th, 2014

NEED HELP

I got my PPR request and I have sent email request to cic to change my visa office location to Delhi because my wife is in India so will also go there and get it stamped together.

My post secondary work permit is expiring in December 2014. I am thinking to apply for BOWP but rite now I am on Employment insurance because I got laid off from work. I am hoping to get reply from cic soon so I can go india get our visa stamped and come back do our landing then I don't need work permit anymore but if they delay in replying me and my work visa expires do I need to leave Canada in December even though decision is made on my file.

And another question is can I apply for BOWP if I am on employment insurance or I need to have a job or job offer?

Applied for CEC PR on 25th July-14. PGWP was expiring on 20th Aug-14. Applied for paper based BOWP on 19th Aug-14. Got my AOR on 1st Oct-14 and my BOWP on 27th Oct-14.
Awaiting medical request now.

I am currently employed under PGWP in Canada. I got my AOR in May 2014 and my PGWP is expiring in Feb 2015. TO apply for BOWP, is a LMO mandatory even if I am continuing with the same employer?

I tried to apply for BOWP online using GCKey. In one of the questionnaires they specify:

"You cannot apply at this time. You must have a Labour Market Impact Asssessment issued by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).

A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document that an employer in Canada must usually get before hiring a foreign worker. A positive LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job and that no Canadian worker can do the job. A positive LMIA is sometimes called a Confirmation letter. Your proposed employer would have received the LMIA from ESDC."
