dama2015 I guess you can follow the instruction on the link. My fee was paid within Canada so I didn't had that problem.

am12345 Sorry to hear what you are going through. From what I understand ARC is the last thing before PPR so hopefully you will hear back soon and it will be PPR. I am also hoping for the same thing as well lol.

Your medicals can be extended by the VO. My husband's medicals were extended , they didn't inform us we just found out when my MP inquire about the application. You can send an email to VO and ask them if they received all the documents you sent. In my experience the VO does not tell where in the process you are at they just say that your application review is ongoing or the file is in queau to be reviewed. You should order the electronic notes , it takes one month but at least you have more information and might even get to see the date your file is up for review

I am assuming if its a positive decision then they will be sending you your PPR. It depends what mode of communication they are using for previous communication with you.

POS is Trinidad. It was Ottawa that requested the ARC documents so my lawyer did them and send it to Ottawa. Its been a week since I sent my ARC in so I am waiting now.

Do they send you an approval in the mail or do they just send you PPR once the ARC is approved?

Thanks a lot yeah they were communicating with me via e-mail. I was just curious , I though they also sending some docs about arc approval so we can show port of entry.

I am not exactly sure how this works. Maybe someone who have had their ARC approved in the past can attest to this.

My husband is stil waiting for his ARC so I don't have a specific answer to your question but I found this in in the OP1

From Operation Manual http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/resources/manuals/op/op01-eng.pdf
(page 38)
In addition to an ARC, applicants from visa-required countries require a TRV, while applicants from visa-exempt countries require an electronic travel authorization (eTA). For permanent residence applicants, officers should note in the Remarks block of the Confirmation of Permanent Residence [IMM 5292B] that authorization to return to Canada was granted [A52(1)]. All applicable cost recovery fees must be paid prior the issuance of an ARC.
Officers should
make two copies of the original IMM 1203B form;
give the original to the applicant;
send one copy to the office that removed the applicant from Canada;
send the second copy to the Microfilm Unit, Records Section, Information Management and Technologies Branch (BIM), IRCC, NHQ;
inform applicants that they must present the IMM 1203B form at a port of entry.
If applicants arrive at the port of entry without an IMM 1203B form, they may be reported under subsection A44(1) for non-compliance for not having obtained the authorization to return to Canada as required under subsection A52(1).
Note: The ARC document should be used to grant the authorization to return to Canada whenever written authority is required (including exclusion orders). Its use is not limited to previous deportees where the PREV.DEP flag is enabled.

From what I read it looks like the authorization to return is noted as approved in the COPR (confirmation for permanent residence). My understanding is that visa exempt countries get the COPR in the mail (probably certified mail) and for people that need visa to Canada the Visa office requests the passport so they can insert the COPR in their passport, just like any other visa except in this case is a COPR.
The Operation Procedure manual (OP1) is very helpful to understand a lot of the questions we have regarding the ARC.

One of the forum members Jimmy64, was recently approved for his ARC, and last I know he was waiting for his passport so maybe he can give us a bit more information once he receives it.

Thanks for all these information violet11 . It looks so easy to do it but heavy backlog in vo makes it more difficult :( 3 weeks past for my arc . I m just praying to get it next week .

Hi!
just in case someone would have the same question As i did concerning the ARC processing fee...i emailed mexico visa office and they told me it was fine to make payement online and also that i could send reciept and letter by email!

We havnt sent the letter yet but i was wondering did you guys write it on your own or is it better to d it with a lawyer..until now we have done the whole process on our own but we are not sure on the correct way to format the letter they are just asking for why should special consideration be given for return to canada and why he didnt leave when asked? I am confused since he did leave when they asked him to he was escorted by someone at the airport...he did appeal the decision for his refugee claim..any advice?
Thanks!

Basically you need to give apalogy to Canada why you overstayed and what you are planning to do there with your family like future plans. We didn't hire a lawyer,letter must be not too long but strong . We also added online payment receipt and they didnt mention that in the e-mail certificate of departure the stuff they give you before you leave.they already know what is going on but always good to give extra docs thats what I think.

My lawyer did my letter for me as he was dealing with the whole case from the beginning.

You just basically put that he complied with all the rules and regulations. That he left the country when he was asked too and that he attended all his appointments, did not miss any. How he wants to be with his family and there are better opportunities in Canada, etc, etc.
