Thanks for the response! I'm not in Canada but in USA. Could you offer me any timeline from the medical request to passport request? They didn't request anything else other than the medical stuff.

Oh ok, if you are in the USA, there is no need to take the appointment in advance because the DMPs in the US send the results after 2 or 3 days to Ottawa unlike the system in Canada which takes 2 weeks.

Regrading the time taken to get your passport request after the visa office receives your medicals, i cannot give a definite answer but let me be optimistic from this guy timeline (on Trackitt):

He got his medical request from Buffalo visa office on: 11 Nov, 2009

His medical was done on: 12 Nov, 2009

His medical was sent on: 20 Nov, 2009

His passport request was on: 31 Dec, 2009

He landed in Canada on: 21 Jan, 2010

The entire period of time since he has done the medicals and got the visa is: almost a month and a half.

I hope our cases go as smoothly as his.

My status also got changed to "in-process". does it mean the file is approved? Is medical the next step which could take as long as 4 months?

In process means that your file has been assigned to an officer who will review it and if everything is fine, you will receive section A of your medical. Your e-cas will be under In process until you get your PPR and will change to decision made after or just before you get your visa.
Good luck,

Cheers,
That was fast. We completed our medicals on April 29th and they were sent on May 3rd, received by Ottawa on May 4th. My case status still shows "In Process".

mpapdp.1984-Your e-CAS will stay “In process” until you get your visa or just before. Click on “In process” and see if you can read "medical results have been received”
All the best,

Wsj78- Depend on how busy Ottawa is during receipt of your medical. I saw applicants waiting for 8 months. Between DMP-Ottawa-CIC file can be displace and get lost. My suggestion is to stay in contact with your DMP. He can contact Ottawa and get valuable information on your behalf.

Thanks for your response. I was just having this doubt about how long will Ottawa take to send the medical results to the visa office. Yours seem to be very fast. I am not sure if I would be this lucky.

pasi-It was only one part of the equation and now I have been waiting for my PPR since last week. We just have to be positive and sometimes away from our PC, then thing happen…
