I hope that won't be the case for you but the statistics shows that new immigrants in general struggle to find good jobs when they arrive in Canada. It takes on average 5 years for their to be a rebalance.

Immigration is an act of faith and most people migrating are doing it to secure better opportunities for their children.

Forget fear and face what lies ahead with boldness while aspiring towards an excellent conclusion.

I do understand your point, but don't get wrong, am not afraid or being a chicken in anyway Advance123, I just want to be pretty sure of what one is getting himself into. I have always been a fighter and I will continue be, but you can only fight for a place when opportunities are abound and you are allow to explore equally with others irrespective of race or religion alright.

My experience in the UK is not a good one hence, the caution. I am very sure Canada is not like UK anyway.

But I have to be pretty cautious and get the facts right.

We hope for the best anyway and surely get there and succeed.

Cheers.............

Dear 9jcanada,

Its pointless to argue. Everyone will see when they get there. I have been through all this in my student life here in Australia and Canada will soon start their immigration process like them.Well impressive writing and could have given you nice answers if i was to match your level of writing. Life is not all mathematics and stats buddy, hope you realize reality soon.

I have loads of evidence of people who where never considered for the job route but who have eventually gone through the FSW1 route and have secured great jobs.

On the other hand I have a few European friends who have processed Canadian visa within 3 to 6 months of applying. Canada sends out agents to pro-actively recruit from Ireland, Greece etc but you never hear of the same for Africa, Asia etc except the BRICS nations.

If you follow the news over the past one year, it is evident that this is where immigration to Canada is tending towards,
.
If you can find me one African, based in Africa minus South Africa, who got a visa through the job route and not through student or any other route, I'll give you a dollar,
Spot on!

One thing I will have to say about this matter is that you guys are making me change my mind, because I don't want to experience what one is currently going through in the UK, where you are lure to come and study for a degree and that after that you secure a good job, but later found out that the opposite is rather the case.

After graduating with a brilliant result, you finally find yourself scrambling for survival jobs rather than the professional ones all in the name that British jobs are for British people.

After they must have succeeded in collected your hard earn currency and milking you out of cash to run their economy.

Hope Canada is not the same kettle of fish. If not I would rather stay back in my country.

I don't want to be beating twice.
No, dont think that way. You need to go to Canada with an aim, which is to get to the top....it wont be easy from the begining, but it is doable. Nowhere is rosy, not UK or other parts of Europe, Aus, New Zealand and certainly not Canada. You need to develop a though skin to get through the harsh realities after landing...How to do this, explore your field, the qualification needed, licensing procedures etc. Good luck!

Actually one of my friends from our CIIP course is originally from Africa (later moved to Norway) who got a job offer.

Canada getting agents to recruit from certain countries is NOT the same as saying that people from other countries don't get fair chances.

As I've said it's about communication and determination. The countries Canada may focus its active recruitment on is one arguement. But I believe most Canadian employers give immigrants from all countries (including Africa) a fair chance as long as their language skills are up to the task AND the prospective employee shows the right determination and enthusiasm.

Your friend was based in Norway when he had the job offer, the main crust of the arguement-geographical location.

I also believe Canadian employers give immigrants in general (including Africans) a fair chance when they are ALREADY in Canada. There is a difference between giving a fair chance to everyone when they are already inside Canada and when OUTSIDE Canada.
