    February 2016 Applications

If you look at the 4/6 spreadsheet you will see a pattern for the average processing times. It varies from case to case - some people actually go from application receive to Oath Ceremony in only 3 or 4 months. Others take over 6 months but I think *MOST* will complete in 7 months or less. Best...

Hi. There were 2 of us and we brought 2 people for the oath. They didn't seem to have a limit as such. The center chairs were for the candidates and the left, right and back sets of chairs were for family and friends to sit.

Hi all, Well my wife and I had our Oath Ceremony this morning and got our Citizenship Certificates, so that's the end of the journey for us. Around 2.5 months after our test, around 6.5 months after applying They ask in the invitation to bring all your documents you applied with - but they...

Hi you are welcome, and congratulations :) Printing out i94 saves the officials time and IMO anything the applicant can do to shorten the journey to an approval is worth doing. And also I think providing the i94 information reduces the chance that the applicant might get a residency questionairre.

Hi - most people DO get a line in their ECAS saying that they sent a test invitation out. It just seems to have bugged in our case. And yes that was the worry for us with the Oath ceremony once we figured our test ECAS entry was bugged. If the same happened for the Oath, and the letter they...

Incidentally it seems my eCAS detail line has started working again since they put the line in about the Oath ceremony. However, still nothing there about the test invitation so I am guessing that must have bugged copying across with the eCAS automated system. My eCAS currently looks like this...

Well this times very well for us. We are on holiday (in Canada) from Saturday for 2 weeks until 14th August. Then I am travelling on business to the USA at the end of September - really wanted Canadian passport for that since with neither passport nor the PR card surrendered at the ceremony...

I would also suggest you print copies of i94 from the US border controls site if you made any trips to the US during the 6 years prior to your application. When I had my interview they were quite grateful I'd printed the i94 out - and might just save you a residency questionnaire and therefore...

Hi :) Yeah we are also Surrey. Some visa office take only a few days from test to Decision Made. Ours took 6 weeks which seems a long time. As I said the actual eCAS detail line once you click the status is still broken for us. Does your eCAS say Decision Made yet or still In Process?

So finally an update of sorts. My eCAS main status has now been changed to DECISION MADE. Although the details when you click on the link still just say "We started processing your application on ...." and no further, so something is still broken with eCAS. Ah well, hopefully we'll hear from...

Congrats! :) Hoping to get ours very soon. My CIC officer told my wife (hers was the 2nd of our two interviews) that it's take "around a month probably less" and that was 7th June. Surrey seems a lot slower offering test dates, but faster with oath ceremonies? Our last update on ECAS was...

Myself and my wife are on the same case, and my interview was first, so he couldn't stamp approved until he interviewed my wife. She said she thought he stamped something but wasn't sure. Since our ECAS is screwed and won't update we're not going to know anything until the oath invite letter...

    April 2016 Citizenship Applicants

I am early Feb 2016 applicant and didn't get cit test until June (Surrey office seem slower than Vancouver in that regard), so although we're still hoping to get in for the Canada Day ceremonies (there's one round the corner from us in Fort Langley), it's kind of looking like a long shot now...

    Proof of English language

I heard some people have had problems with just the degree certificate alone. To be safe I would include the transcript stating the language or instruction was English. On our application we included copies of degree certificates and transcripts both stating the language of instruction and...

    Vancouver Oath Timeline after Test/Interview

Congrats! Our ECAS is doomed to say "We started processing your app on XYZ and have been too lazy to update ECAS since then" forever I think. Were hoping to sneak in for the special Canada Day celebrations but that's unlikely. Apparently though they can notify you as late as 2 weeks before the...
