    Sponsorship and Visitor Status

Okay, so I am applying outland, I can't get an OWP. Can I still visit my wife? Can I visit while the application is processing? Once it is received, can I stay for another six months? Once they begin "processing" the application, does my status change? Am I able to visit for longer?

    Sponsorship and Visitor Status

Hi there, I am an American with a Canadian wife. For the last year, I stayed with my wife for one year. I spent six months in Canada, left, then returned within three weeks and stayed for another six months. When I did this, I didn't apply for an extension, because I was crossing and coming...

Birth Certificates for all family members?

It says to provide a birth certificate for myself and all family members, whether they are coming to Canada or not. So, like, my entire family? I don't have a relationship with my father, am I expected to go find him and get his birth certificate? Even though there's no chance of him visiting me?

    Spousal sponsorship

Question about IMM5406: am I supposed to fill in the marital status/physically present for every one of my relatives? The instructions tell me to state whether my wife and I were at the wedding, but the box is obviously there for all of the relatives.

TYPE or PRINT in black ink -- both okay?

Like, you'd just have a blank .doc on the following page, with like: "4a. (answer). 4b. (answer), etc." ?

TYPE or PRINT in black ink -- both okay?

As I'm sure you all know, some of these boxes don't allow the right amount of characters in them, forcing you to write your answers in. That said, can we type most of the application, and WRITE in the small boxes? Is it either or?

IMM0008 - Enter Last Entry to Canada...if applicable?

I'm filling out IMM 0008, I entered my current country of residence [#10] (not Canada). As I am not in Canada, it deselects #11 (Last Entry to Canada). Do I not need to enter my last entry to Canada because I don't currently reside there? It won't let me type in the box. Should I print the...

    Common-Law? Conjugal? Neither?

Hi, I've been staying with my girlfriend in BC for a few months now, and it is looking like I can't seem to get a work permit (lack of places willing to sponsor a "non-skilled" worker), a study permit isn't panning out (too much money for tuition). I'm currently with my girlfriend who I've...

    Working While Studying

As far as I understand, an immigrant at a DLI with a study permit is allowed to work up to twenty hours off-campus, so long as they are in good academic standing and a full-time student. Are part-time students allowed to work? If so, are they allowed to work more than twenty hours?

Open Work Permit - a necessity?

Hi, I'm a 29 year old in Vancouver, BC. I moved in with my girlfriend here two months ago. I have a Bachelor's degree in political science and over four years of administrative/clerical experience. As far as I can tell, I am not a "skilled worker", and none of my previous occupations seem...
