They "lost" my husband's FBI certificate as well. I simply emailed them myself and asked them to look for it. Within two days I got a response saying that they found it and there was no need to re-do it. Hopefully this is the case for you as well! Good luck.

My husband rented a car with Enterprise and crossed/landed in Buffalo without any issues! The bus doesn't seem like a bad option, either.

I assume that my husband had to get one because he has a very common name. He has never actually lived in Canada so I found it odd that they wanted to do one. But when Buffalo asks you to do something, you do it! We applied outland so in order for his to be processed faster, he drove up to...

FleetingDasein: My husband landed yesterday in Buffalo as well! He got to the HSBC tower around 9am and crossed the border around noon. Congrats! Doesn't it feel great?

Woohoo! Enjoy! Our E-Cas hasn't changed either :P But we don't mind! He just got back with a shiny new Visa in his passport (It really is shiny) and a bottle of bourbon from the duty free. He IS from Kentucky, after all! When he gets back from returning the rental car we will celebrate.

Thank you so much everyone! He just called to tell me that he landed without any issues. Now he is on his way home! I can't wait to see him and finally celebrating after 3 years of marriage and 10 months of waiting! Good luck to everyone who is going through the process. I assure you, it is...

Ahh my husband is landing as we speak! I am so anxious/excited. I don't think I will feel any relief until I see him come through the door with a Visa in his hand!

Your situation is similar to me and my husband's. We saw each other about once every 6-8 weeks, as well. We felt lucky that we got to see each other that often, we kept telling ourselves that at least we weren't on different ends of the world! The only piece of mail that was actually sent to...

Thanks! I'm so glad we got CAIPS notes - JUST for that, because we didn't find any other information on them that actually helped us. The PPR was sent this morning, to the wrong address, and auto-forwarded to my husband's actual e-mail. Phew! He is going to the Buffalo consulate tomorrow -...

Waiting does suck! We applied in JUNE and got PPR today (10 months later ::)) but it is SO WELL WORTH EVERY moment. We are lucky that we have met and married the person who we want to be with for the rest of our lives. That's what got us through every moment. The glass IS half full!

I totally understand your frustration, we were watching people who applied in November get PPR when we had applied in June! Ultimately, I think that CIC does things in their own time. We're lucky to have this forum for when things go wrong! As an example, because of this forum I knew that...

We'd been waiting 7 months after AOR at that point so we ordered our CAIPS notes and found out that way. It probably wouldn't hurt to just e-mail them - can you log in to e-cas? It should tell you when they started the process in Buffalo.

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Thank you so much!! :D One thing everyone should know: When we got our CAIPS notes, we saw that they had entered his e-mail incorrectly so my husband set up an email account with that address and had it forwarded to his actual one. They sent his PPR to the incorrect address so it is a good...

PPR to my husband's e-mail this morning!!!!! We are so excited. It's really sinking in. My husband was going to go back to Kentucky TODAY but now we're going to go to Buffalo tomorrow! Does anyone have experience going there with their hubby/wife to land? Will they let me go in with him? I...

AOR = Acknowledgment of Receipt IA = Initial Assessment The AOR is the letter you receive from Buffalo that lets you know they have started processing your application. The IA (also from Buffalo) explains whether you need an interview or have to send additional documents. It seems as though...

That would be AMAZING! I'm not going to count on it being that simple - but it's hard not to get my hopes up that it will be soon! After 10 months of waiting and wondering.
