They want proof that you will go over to reside in Canada once your spouse attains the PR, so ideally you should show: 1) Job offer/letter from employer in Canada stating you will be joining on a particular date 2) Rental papers of home in Canada/mortgage papers 3) If you have a business...

I think it's best to just fill out the form they sent you. Especially since they highlighted the parts you need to fill out. This way, there's nothing they can fault you for. Good luck!

Hi Sally, Yes you can request for your passport back. Send a case specific enquiry via their web form and label it urgent. Explain that you need to travel for work, provides the time frame for which you will be travelling and also give them the date you intend to fly out and the date when you...

Indian MP cannot do much unfortunately. I don't think they would put your file last if you get your Indian MP to enquire! Anyway the Indian MP does not have any power in this matter so I'd suggest don't even bother contacting your Indian MP. Even the Canada MP can only enquire on your behalf...

It means that they are probably doing some sort of internal check thru their database about you. Depending on the outcome, (i.e no adverse info) they will grant the PR. Was this statement on the previous notes?

Visa issue date is the date on your visa in the passport. Decision made date is the date you see a change in your online ECAS status. They may or may not be the same. The stamping will be before or on the same day you see the online change.

Congrats! Depends on which city in India you are at. Also depends on when they mail the PP out to you, which we will never know. I was in Mumbai and I got my passport about a week and half after the visa issue date. It's delivered through Registered Post.

Well yeah. My passport was with them for 10 months. And I was also unfortunately affected by the slowdown due to the strike. My advice is, order GCMS notes every month to understand what is going on. Get your MP involved. Stay informed and keep them on their toes. Best of luck!

    Foreign Service - Strike?

Though this is completely pointless to argue/debate about I'm going to say it anyway: I beg to differ that India has done well to manage a population 30X that of Canada. 5000 years of history and this is all we have to show for it? (I'm born in India though brought up in another, first world...

I don't mean to cause you distress, but the 10 months are from the time the file is transferred to NDVO. From your timeline that seems to be in November, there fore your 10 months would be complete in September. The reason I'm saying this is, unless your time has elapsed they are not under any...

There is no other way to find out anything except MP enquiry and GCMS notes. You can try to send a case specific enquiry, but when I did that, it didnt get answered and it's been almost a month. You should get your GCMS notes in a week or two. It takes up to 30 days to get them. As for PCCs...
