Guys, myself and my employer spoke to an immigration consultant. You can't extend post graduate work permit. What you can do is - get ITA, apply for PR, get an approval from CIC and then apply for a bridging work permit - or your employer can get you a LMIA and you'll switch to a closed work...

No, I can't apply for an open work permit while applying for PR. Bridging work permit is a different thing and not an option for me since my wp expires before I get an AOR to become eligible for bridging WP.

No, open work permits are for recent graduates only, they cannot be extended.
