just have a question and I wonder if the senior forum members can help me with this.

If the PA has previously lived in another country for 9-10 years, does that usually result in a longer background processing time? I know it is case-specific but just generally what is the consensus for NDVO? (submitted PCs for all countries lived)

no red flags, no additional documentd requested. A full huge file was sent in with over than 200 photos from our 3 year relationship. Went to Dubai together for 12 days and Singapore for 10 days. So strange they want interview. So many of my known friend family circle in similar situation are telling me so many people are getting refused over the smallest things
HI HKM24, first thing first providing too many or just too much of documents also leads to interview as you have mentioned you have submitted over 200 photos(which is not a necessity,at least that's what has been told to me by my rep). Second thing- you guys have only 3 years of relationship, that might be their main concerned, but as far as you guys know each other well i don't think so there will be an issue. Last but not least, don't listen to those who is telling you that ''so many people are getting refused over the smallest things'' that's so not true as preity( a star member) as said above that no one from this forum or at least from NDVO is getting rejected as far as i know. So yea don't be upset and keep your hopes high, you will be fine:):):). And all the best for your interview.

Any Senior members want to add up to this, are most welcome-if i missed out something. Thanks:)

Interview Request October 12, 2017
HKM24,

When there is a genuine relationship between you and your spouse, there is no need to distress or listen to any theory. All I would highly recommend is verify, prepare, and present your case with complete genuineness to the VO. You may even end up getting your PPR on the interview date.

Step 1. I see that interview request came on Oct 12, 2017, not sure about interview date. Please order your GCMS notes immediately to see if there is anything mentioned that may have something to indicate as in what triggered this request. It takes 30 days to get your GCMS back. This will help you prepare for your interview in the best possible way. Once you receive your GCMS notes, please understand it and have an explanation ready wherever required.

Step 2. I would suggest that going through your complete application is a must and I hope you have a copy of everything you have submitted. Please start with dates and make sure that they are consistent across all forms and throughout the application. Also, please ensure all your supporting documents corroborates your case. Take notes wherever necessary to identify inconsistencies and prepare explanation wherever required.

Step 3. Once you revise your entire application and GCMS notes, please prep the principal applicant with the interview questions in this doc and the sheet name is interview question https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kmGyZwXM7ehr7BxkucTyrY2DKST_XcC1yauhpAESnpk/edit#gid=1246526521

Step 4. Please put together a folder of documents that have the communication b/w you and your spouse, travel details, transaction records, and/or any other supporting docs after you submitted the application. This helps in showing your continued relationship with your spouse. Attach your notes and explanations from step 1 and step 2.

With these 4 steps, you can present a solid interview and may even end up getting your PPR. Either way, it is for the best!! Take care! All the best! I really hope you and your spouse join together soon!

Hello Experts,

Our application was returned to us, the reason being the missing Birth Certificate. My wife doesn't have her Birth certificate as it was not issued to her. She hails from Ludhiana (Punjab, India). Though, we did add her 10th Class Marksheet and her Voter ID in our application package. The cover letter says that they need the Birth Certificate for Primary applicant and all family members whether or not they are accompanying her.

My questions:
1) What else documentary proof do we need to produce to solve the aforementioned issue?
2) When CIC says they need Birth Certificate of ALL the family members, does it mean they need documents of my wife's parents and siblings as well?

This is the 2nd time our application is returned, please help!

Question 1's reply:

You can submit the 10th marksheet and voter ID provided you have a birth certificate and it is registered late. Not when it is missing. Did you write an explanation letter as in why you cannot proceed. They may have rejected this as Indian government has made the issuance of birth certificate online.

I see that your spouse is from Punjab. Here is the link to apply for birth certificate: http://punjab.gov.in/e-forms Search for birth certificate and fill the form and submit it.

As her newly issued birth certificate will be registered late, she will have to include either the original baptism certificate and other original documents establishing identity such as:
  • Old school records (Fifth class, Middle standard and Matriculation/secondary school certificate), and
  • Voter's ID card.
Also, for video help refer this:

Question 2's reply:
As per CIC, the definition of family is the applicant and his/her children from a previous marriage/relationships if any or children of the sponsor and applicant, not parents or siblings.
