I think if you include your email in your application they email you, it's an implied directive to contact you through email. I remember reading that somewhere but it wasn't really obvious in the application.

Not sure they email sponsorship approvals, i think it's only notice of receipts. I provided my email and I got a letter in the mail.

not necessarily.......my aor was emailed and my approval was mailed.....and that has happend to many here.....like FS said the only consistency with CIC is their inconsistency.....LOL......

I think the reason that some Visa Officers send stuff snail mail instead of email is that they get kickbacks from Canada Post to use the old fashioned method!

Or maybe they're using those really old computers that they bought from NASA after the moon landings that require data entry punch cards....they got a great deal on those!

I called 1-613-944-4000 after they start speaking I pressed 1,2,1,1,2,1,0 and that will take you straight to the line that you need to be on to speak to someone....that is if you live outside of Canada like me.

Thanks everyone! I was getting worried...now just waiting for that letter to arrive...don't know why it's taking so long cause they said they sent it off on July 13th. But I'm sure they can resend it if they have to or tell me what I need to do at this point if I need to redo anything. I did provide my email also on the application but I didn't get anything that way. Glad my name isn't sitting there by itself on the spreadsheet anymore, lol...sorry I haven't been keeping track on there cause I've been a bit busy here lately. Goodluck to everyone waiting for first stage approval right now and hopefully second step is smooth for all of us also!
