I am seeking info on a peculiar situation that I am currently in. I have a CSQ (skilled worker) and applied for PR (10 months in and waiting). I have a valid employer specific work permit till next year but unfortunately I was part of a major layoff. I read that with CSQ, you could ideally get a work permit without going through LMIA if a company is willing to give me a job offer and wait for the work permit processing, of course provided the company finds me suitable for the job. However, how do you find such a company that is willing to give a candidate with a situation like me an opportunity. The first thing you usually see in an online application is "are you eligible or authorized to work in canada?". Since my current status is employer specific worker, I am not allowed to work in any other company, so the accurate response to that question would be "no". So I wonder if a company would see past that answer, and give consideration to applicants like me.
Any info/guidance/suggestions you can give would be much appreciated.
