Working in another country while waiting for sponsorship

My husband is dominican. He may go work in another country for a few months.
We are wondering if that can cause any problems that he is not in his country while we wait for his sponsorship to be processed. We sent his files in December 2016. Everything has been confirmed received and ready for processing. He is applying as outland, as he is in the Dominican.

That is a risk he needs to decide whether to take. If he is called for an interview and doesn't attend, the app would be refused.
