Work Permit Extension via French Examination

Work permit is expiring soon. I heard if i secured CLB 5 or 6, i can able to extend work permit.
Any suggestion or necessary comments would be really appreciate.

Depends what kind of work permit do you have?
LMIA supported a closed work permit?
PGWP?

Short answer, yes, you can extend the work permit but not the PGWP way, it has to be francophone monility program. Google the requirement, i guess there is a requirement of having a LMIA exempt full time permanent job offer, but I highly doubt that if your WP is expiring soon and now you are starting options i.e. job offer, and then French classes to secure CLB 5, you have enough time.
