hi, I have applied for express entry and it’s currently in process. Whilst the application is being dealt with, can I apply for a work permit?

I know of people who applied for PR and study permit in parallel. Turned out fine for them.

I don't see why you can't apply for both simultaneously.

No, it doesn't hurt in the case of Canada.

It does in the US.

As long as you have valid reasons for applying temp visas, your PR application should have no bearing on it.
