Good News from me too!! My Canada Workpermit ICT is approved and I received email from my attorney just now.
We filed on 04-Feb-13. Its a long & tensed wait
Happy to share this information. But due to politics my managers already made their mind to send me back to India as my max-out is 04/30
Any idea if I can switch employers with the existing WP?

if that helps at all.. i received an email from the consulate in NYC today and they said that they are now processing with applications received on February 10th .. i applied online on the 11th so hopefully the wait shouldn't be too long anymore.

All applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received. An exact schedule of completion is not available at this time as our processing time is a minimum of (30) thirty days. Please be advised that as of today, we are processing files received on February 10, 2013.

Congrats; Canadian WP, unlike US is not tied to a employer so yes, you can switch jobs.

Hi,

Canadian WP is tied to specific employer if he has closed WP. He can't switch jobs right away, he needs to go through the process again. Get an approved LMO then apply for WP. He can't work with a new employer if he doesn't have a new WP approved for new employer. I doubt if he has open work permit because it's ICT.
