Work Permit Applications at NYC for 2013

Hi, everyone. I wonder if there is any other people who applied online after Aug 20th received passport request, except Vincentleads?

, I got the letter for sending my passport today. I submitted work permit application online on September 12, 2013.

Here is my complete time line:
Applied on line on September 12, 2013.
Got message to send passport about 4 pm January 14, 2014.
Sent passport via USPS about 5 pm January 14 from central Illinois.
New York Consulate received my passport at noon January 15.
My passport was sent back in the afternoon of January 16.
I received the visa at noon January 17

Congrats Vincentleads and thanks for the details....good to know that they are processing fast now. My application was submitted online on Oct 1st 2013, everyone else who are waiting to hear please share your dates. Did anyone else hear to submit the passport ?

I know your question was about people applied in October 2013. I am also curious to know.
I applied on November 12th 2013 (online). When I checked with NY embassy about my application status in the first week of Jan 2014, they replied to me on 6th Jan 14 that they were finalizing applications received on 21st Aug 2013. In the new year it seems they are finalizing applications very fast as I see that they are working on September second week applications (vincentleads application finalized on 14th Jan). So in one week they finalized applications that are submitted in three weeks. So at least they speed up the processing. So hoping that they finalize applications with the same speed, I guess your application will be finalized next week. My application may be ready by second week of Feb 2014.

Every one please upload your application status as well as if any one gets passport requests please let us know. The whole thing of waiting (almost 4 months) is very frustrating, I hope you all agree.

I wonder how long it is going to take for mine. I applied online on Jan16, 2014. And my US Visa expires in May. looks like I am not gona fall in the timeline. This is indeed frustrating.

My brother's timeline.. ny received his application thru express post from canada last sept 11.
He received an email today saying that his visa has been approved.. so his passport might be here in a week or two...

I got email this morningh, and they said they are finalizing applications received on September 5, 2013.
I applied on Jan 07, don't kown how long to wait. anybody can give some information? could anyway to speed it up?

Thanks for the info nmy9420. I don't think they update that automated email regularly. Because, there are people who are getting approvals who applied on september 12. Last year in January, they took only 2 months max. Now it looks like 5 months.

NYC is adjudicating cases filed in Sept.2013. My attorney just confirmed .So lets hope to get updates in the following week.

Hello nmy, I don't think there is anyway to expedite processing...my application was submitted on Oct 1st 2013 and I am still waiting.....
