I think this might be the best topic to add this under:

So I worked for one company for 2.5 years - NoC 2171

It was a government position and I have my employment record with me. Due to it being a government job, my job title and the structure of the huge department changed A LOT, however my duties stayed 80% the same.

I am wondering if I need to list my job in sections in EE due to my position on my employment record showing the following:

01/06/2010 - 25/10/2010 NOC 2171 Job title 1 (lower pay grade)
25/10/2010 - 01/04/2011 NOC 2171 Job title 1 (higher pay grade)
01/04/2011 - 01/08/2011 NOC 2171 Job title 1a
01/08/2011 - 20/10/2012 NOC 2171 Job title 1b

Am I to list each job separately, even though it's the same company and my duties didn't change, however my manager's manager might have changed or my teams structure name changed?
I'm going to suggest a practical approach for your particular situation. I think it depends on what your work experience letter says, if you can get your HR or your manager/colleague to write you a letter that describes 80% of your job description, with a consensus job title (doesn't have to be exact), then you have a strong case. CIC is interested in "balance of probabilities". If you provide a lot of documentation, and tick off the items matching your NOC, then the balance is in your favor.

It's a fine line between trying to truthful and attracting unwarranted attention. Ultimately you are the best judge. Being an adult is about picking shades of grey.

Thank you very much. I'm in no doubt what I did day to day and neither is my manager, but with all government's, nothing is the same for more than a week.

I will wait until I have my letter from my old manager, and then add more from there. I don't believe even the Canadian government can access my file from UK government, and my manager, being a friend and with no reason to lie, if contacted will confirm whatever he can as a "civilian".

If anyone knows about red tape, it has to be the Canadians ;)

I'm more concerned about how to list it in EE, but I guess one job and then as much as possible in the letter.

If you're internship was a full calendar month, you're fine.
f

Yes. It was 12 months, full time, paid. 68 hours per week.

For part-time job, only 15 hours work experience would be considered, even if you have worked for 20 hours a week. So in your case the cumulative work experience would be 7.5 months of part time plus 1 year 4 months of full-time experience.
How can you be absolutely sure of this? I've had some senior members tell me completely differently. In particular, if part time is 20 hours/week, it should be counted accordingly.

For instance 20 hours/week for 1.5 years would translate to 1 year full-time

(20/30)*1.5 = 1 year full time.

Stanlee is right. Doesn't matter how many hours you work above 15 hours/week in a part time contract will be termed as 15 hours/week. Even if someone work 29hrs/week, it will still be counted as 15hrs/week.

hopefully this thread is still active.

Hi experts. Need help with this pls. I have worked on part time 20hrs/week contract as Accounting bookkeeper Noc 1311 for 4yrs and more than 1 year full time 38hrs/week Accountant NOC 1111. I know that to qualify for FSW, i will need to work 1year full time continuous, which I did. But I am confused about the calculation of part time hours. Can I count the part time hours, though it wasn't continuous. if i can than i will score the highest point. Below is the rough time line:

01 AUG 2011 – 06 JAN 2013 : 75 WEEKS NOC 1311
04 MAR 2013 – 20 OCT 2013 : 33 WEEKS NOC 1311
18 NOV 2013 – 01 FEB 2015 : 62 WEEKS NOC 1311
13 APR 2015 – 17 JAN 2016 : 40 WEEKS NOC 1311
18 JAN 2016 – 11 FEB 2017 : 56 WEEKS : NOC 1111 FULLTIME
27 MAR 2017 – CURRENT: 18 WEEKS NOC 1111 FULLTIME

i think, it will be 3yrs in total for work experience in crs. Please advice :)

sorry to chime in this post can anybody ans this question

Question: I am working full time currently in not in demand TEER code ..if i work part time in category based TEER code....can i claim points for that part time work as it will give me advantage and rest 2.5 years can i claim from current work experience?
I will describe it by giving example so that my question is clear
MAIN PROFESSON TEER CODE - JULY 2021 TO DECEMBER 2023 - 2.5 YEARS EXP
CATEGORY BASED NOC CODE JANUARY 2024 TO DECEMBER 2024 (PART TIME JOB FOR 15 HRS PER WEEK..THATS 1560 HRS) - 6 MONTHS EXPERIENCE....(HOWEVER, I will be working FULL TIME in my main line of work) ........Is it okay to do this?? Can i put my main profession work exp in for this time in personal history rather than work history? is it allowed to do two jobs for FSW???
