I am applying as 2131 Civil engineer on FSW program.
Filling in the application I met following issue:
My experience is:
5 years as civil engineer of design department
2 years as Manager of design department
However, being a manager of design department I still do civil engineering work. I am signing all project documentation as a senior engineer. In fact I am also senior civil engineer or chief construction officer.
The question is which occupation to mention in the form.
Both 2131 Civil engineers and 0211 Engineering managers are in the list of Eligible occupations.
But the issue is getting necessary points.
As it is mentioned on CIC site, points are awarded as below:
1 year 9 points
2-3 years 11 points
4-5 years 13 points
6 or more years 15 points
Question.
How many points shall I expect if I mention 5 years as 2131 (Civil engineer) + 2 years as 0211 (Engineering manager)?
Will experience on both occupations be summed (5+2=7), resulting to 15 points or I can be awarded only 13 points for my primary occupation (5 years on civil engineering)?
If I can get only 13 points in this case do you advise not to mention experience as Engineering manager at all and mention instead of it 7 years as civil engineer?
