Hi, Pease check your status on eCAS and let us know. I am in a similar situation and I want to withdraw my PR renewal application, before it gets 'frozen'. Thanks. By the way how many days you passed since you applied for visit visa for your wife and also how many days passed since you applied for the sponsorship. Thanks once again.

I checked my eCAS status is same for the past 1 and half year.
My wife applied online for Visa from India in the 1st week of Feb.
It takes 22 working days.
There were two clarifications after applying.
She completed her responses by 1st week of Mar.
She is awaiting their feed back.

Sponsorship, I applied dated Feb 15, 2014.

My suggestion to you is, withdraw your application.
Prepare your new PR renewal application.
Submit the same in two to three months time.
At least you will hear from them on one of your applications.

Thanks for your reply, Manochan.

If your status is same for last 1.5 years, that means your request to withdraw was not accepted and still they are keeping your old application and working on it rather than your new application.

Do you think they are working on your new application?

Regarding reasons for withdrawal - if I give 'inadvertent errors in calculation of residency requirements' will that be fine and acceptable to them?

Thanks.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
The reason 'no longer require a PR card as not intending to travel' pretty much does it - just my 2 cents!

Frankly speaking.
I am least bothered about what they will do or going to do.
My documentation was in line with their requirement.
If they ask me any clarification, I am prepared to reply.
BUT they should ask me!!!!

Hi Manochan,

I see your frustration when you say - " BUT they should ask me!!!!"

Apparently, they are not asking. The least you could do is to call the CIC call center and find out if they have cancelled your previous application.

You should not have applied until they confirm you that they have cancelled your previous application.

I understand processing will take some time, but withdrawal should not take any time if it is acceptable to them.

So my advice to you, ask the call center - if they are working on new or old application?

This is the least they should tell you.

Wishing you the best of luck.

Call Centre!
I tried many times but with no luck.
Wait period 40 minutes.
Cannot hold line more than 5 minutes when I am in the office.

Most of the time, there is a recording stating the wait period is long, call volumes are high, go to the website and check your status.
Only once I got a real person who was could not say anything.
Leave it.
Its done.
After seeing my new application, at least they will work on my 1st application.
Something will come out of it.
I will keep posting.
I have actually went ahead with 'Forum' advise of withdrawing and then re-applying in 2 to 3 months.
One of forum persons got reply of his withdrawal after one and half years.

Regards.

Hi, If you are in Toronto, call them at 08:00 AM, (Toronto Time). Their time at Nova Scotia is 09:00 AM at that time, and you would get response in less than one minute. Try it, ask them - and it is the least they could tell you - if they are working on old or new. Of course you are not concerned and it is immaterial both your applications are valid, but I feel your second one is a better application than the first. Let us know. All the best.

Hello Forum Members,
Thank you for all your guidance.
I checked my E-status today; my 1st PR Renewal application has been shown as withdrawn.
A huge relief.
I did as per you all members guidance and it worked. WOW!!
Thank you again.
According to me, my 2nd PR renewal application is 100% correct.
Most importantly, I have more than required days, i.e., 730 day, in Canada for renewal.
Should they need any clarification, I am prepared.
Best regards,
Manochan

Hi, Manochan - congratulations.

So howmuch time it took for them to accept your withdrawal, please let us know.

Also it appears as though they processed your second application within a week of withdrawal of the first application. Is that right?

Thanks.

Hi,
After submitting my PR withdrawal, I gave them 2 months time.
I did not receive any written confirmation.
However, my e-status showed 'application withdrawn' in the 1st week of March,14.
In the meantime, I applied for PR renewal 2nd time.
In 25 working days, I received my PR card by mail.
When I applied for 2nd time, I attached all possible documents showing my presence in Canada. I worked for four Canadian companies during this time. All companies paystub, tax assessment, medical results, etc, I attached to my application.

I wish you all the best for your case.
