I was sworn in as a Canadian Citizen this morning! It was really heartwarming. It took about 2 hours. They were very touchy about needing to see everyone speak the oath. They reviewed the notice to appear to be sworn in, and they took my permanent resident card. They did not review my passports or identification. I was given a citizenship certificate with a number. We were advised to wait two days before applying for a passport so they could update our records to indicate we were now citizens.

Thanks again to everyone on this forum who shared personal experiences.

My timeline:

Application sent: 19 May 2014
Application received: 23 May 2014
In Process: 21 July 2014
AOR (Acknowledgement of receipt)+Discover Canada booklet received: 21 August, 2014
Notice to Appear to Write Citizenship Test: Dated March 24, 2015; received March 26, 2015
Test Date: Monday April 13 @ 7:45 a.m. at Johnston Terminal at The Forks
Swearing-in: Tuesday June 23 @ 9:15 a.m. at VIA Rail Station, 123 Main St.

Took 13 months in total from application on May 19, 2014 to swearing in on June 23, 2015.

Alainski of this thread received his oath notice 45 days from the day he took the test. It's been 47 days from the day we took ours. I'm really expecting a mail from CIC within this week. I was first hoping that we could take our oath on July 1st but it seems that there has been no oath taking ceremony scheduled on Canada day unlike last year.

My ECAS updated today(middle night) , The application status is changed from "In Process" to "Decision Made". Who knows what will happen?

Hi Wkoso,

We took the test on the same day but mine still remained "in process" Did you receive notice either by mail or on your online status for oath date? Have you taken your oath already? Do they usually change status to "decision made" even before oath taking?

Hi Aspire,

No any notice of oath invitation online, by mail or email, just changed to "decision made".

There is another thread talking about status changed to decision made after the test but without oath invites. Collectively they said an invite is coming in a day or two. Congratulations, you're almost over.

Hi there guys,

Finally, oath letter arrived today, it's for July 13th. The issue date is June 27th. The E-case changed nothing except the "Decision Made" so far.

Good luck to all of you guys here.

Hi Aspire,

Hopefully your oath letter will arrive soon.

Just a general question. Has Winnipeg sped up the processing times. I remember Winnipeg was slow. When did this happen. Average timing to oath is? Thnx. Happy Canada day

Congrats , :),
