Hello everyone,
I am a protected person with my PR application in Stage 2. I am waiting for my PR interview. However, I just got married to an Australian citizen. I wonder how this will affect my application for PR. Will my PR be refused because now I am married to an Australian citizen. What if I don't plan to move to Australia and my spouse instead wants to move to Canada? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

You must immediately inform CIC about the change in your status.
Failure to do so will be misrepresentation and your spouse will never be able to be to be sponsored by you.
It would also put your PR at risk if you are successful in your application.

AS noted by zardoz, you need to notify CIC of your change of status. If you don't declare that you are married, you will not be able to sponsor your spouse later on.
However, getting married to an Australian in itself will not put your PR at risk - you can marry who you want, and as long as you intend to stay in Canada it should be fine. Contact CIC to inform them about your new status once you're married, it will allow you to sponsor your husband once you are a PR. it will also show CIC that you do intend to stay in Canada as you intend to sponsor your husband later on.
Good luck,
Sweden
