Will point be deducted after birthday

Me and hubby are about to receive our eca report and ielts results by August 31. Adv my hubby is the primary applicant. His birthday is on September 10 ( turning 34 in two weeks) So I urged my consultancy to create express entry profile before his birthday so that we can save 5 points, but my case officer tells - don’t tell us to hurry up. It will take time to create profile. The lawyer has to go through your documents and then only we can open EE profile. However 5 points will be deducted from your crs even though u submit before birthday .”

Is this true ? Or the age at time of application is considered for one year?
Should I insist he files before birthday or is it of no use ?

If you create the profile before September 10 and get an ITA before then you would not lose 5 points.

Why not create your own profile? Save the delay of a lawyer and also saves you money. Why do you need a case officer and a lawyer to submit an EE profile.

The points for your age is locked only on receiving the ITA. Even if you create your profile before the birth date, you will lose 5 points if you do not recieve an ITA.
Creating a profile does not take much time. You can submit all other documents to your lawyer/ case officer and ask him to review the documents and create the profile. Once you receive your ECA and IELTS scores, these can be updated in the profile. There is nothing much to review in the ECA and IELTS score. You just have to update the profile with the info available in the reports.

Thank u for ur replies . So I get that our application is gonna lose 5 points even after submitting before birthday... I can create my profile but when we started this Canada immigration idea we were clueless so we approached this agency . So I am just going with them

Most likely there will be a round of invitation on Sep 5. If your profile has been created before that, and if you get an ITA on Sep 5, then you will not lose points. If you don't receive ITA in the Sep 5 round, then you will lose 5 points. Any idea what your score will be with/without the 5 points?

what's your score? if its around 443 then you better tell them to hurry up and create as there will be a draw on 5th.
