Hi,
I have 10 months 7 days of foreign work experience from June 2021 to April 2022.
Now I am counting Canadian work experience from Jan 2025 - present.
I recently realized that I can gain points by finishing of the 8 weeks of work I'm missing. But I am not entirely sure how to do this. After talking with my employer they are pretty fixated to not allow me to work outside the country for 8 weeks but they can only allow me to take vacation for 4 weeks.
Before I start looking for a remote job from foreign employer I would like to clarify what's my best option here.
1. I can try to combine 4 weeks vacation with 4 weeks work outside Canada from my Canadian employer (unlikely to get it approved) but I'm not sure if I can showcase that as foreign experience.
2. Find a remote job asap and work for 2 months double dipping, but create profile only when I reach 1 year Canadian experience ( February end instead of December end because I know you can't claim both simultaneously) ( does my plan make sense? )
3. Wait until I finish 1 year of Canadian experience (I am still planning for the 4 weeks vacation and this time I would prefer if this vacation would be considered as Canadian experience in order to be time efficient) and then start remote job for a foreign employer. I don't want to do this because I can't control when I get the remote job unless keeping this 1 year Canadian experience continuous brings an advantage.
Since I have never created an express entry profile I have no idea how the points will be awarded. Do I have to purposely avoid my Canadian experience during the months I work for remote work foreign, or is it possible to just let the Canadian experience running until Feb(1 year 2 months but 2 months wont be considered) and also add the 2 months of remote work that I will try to achieve within the next 5-6 months.
