Will I have problems with my surname or last name?

Supposed my name is Carlos Montes Da Silva(just an example). When I am filling my application, my surname or last name is: Da Silva. However, here in the US, they always disregard the "Da" from my last name. They always have my name is Carlos M Silva and my last name as "Silva" and not "Da Silva". If I am asked for working documentation and bank statement, will I have a problem with that?

you could explain all of this with an attached letter giving explaination clearly in short sentences. If they're satisfied they'll go ahead with your application if not they would let you know. You might want to check with lawyer if they can provide you some certified document regarding authenticity of your name. That way everything would be rock solid!
