So my college agent knows I might switch from humber to elsewhere once I reach Toronto and since I got my visa without telling her or taking any help from her, she wants a copy of visa to give to humber and gee bee world (from where she's getting my work done as she's an agents agent).

My question is that if I'm paying humber their firsts sem fees do they even care for my visa copy?????? I have a feeling she might land me in a soup if I switch colleges there as they would have my visa references and other details .. Something she clearly doesn't need.... Can these guys possibly land me in trouble with humber or CIC once I leave. India? Possibly make a restriction get imposed on me at the POE cus if they tell humber I'd quit Humber would definitely want to inform the folks at CIC.

Worried on this. Has anyone else's agent asked for visa details too cus I see no reason why humber would want my visa details so long as I give them the fees and book my spot... :-/

Oh hey thanks for that :-) I was wondering if my agent is upto something fishy....... so say I get no restrictions on visa can I just go to humber ask for a refund n move forward? And also, if u can tell me, do they usually put restrictions on study permits at the POE or is it a rare happening only when the student seems fishy? Thanks for ur help :-)

Congrats for the visa approval. Agents (usually the small new comer agents need visa copy to show to other prospected clients that they have got the visas earlier). An agent, be it small or a famous one, nobody can do anything about your college switch or you joining it at all or not. What you should ideally do now as you are planning to switch the college, apply and obtain conditional LOA from the college you wish to join. Keep it handy, at POE, don't talk about college switch, once you land here (which should be at least 1 week ahead of scheduled start date of the program), visit Humber, show them the LOA of another college you wish to join, they will deduct 500 CAD as withdrawal fee. Now, not really sure if they will transfer the fee directly to the second college you have joined. Recently, colleges have become finicky about fee transfers (for example - centennial, St. Clair and couple of other colleges have started refunding the fee to the account where it originated from, and just to make situation bit worse for migrating students, they ask to show first semester fee being paid to the college you are switching to). Hence, keep it all in mind while you land here as you might have to keep a reserve of at least 1 semester fee which you may need to pay upfront to another college in order to withdraw from Humber.

Wish you luck and Welcome to Canada.

Usually they don't. Their intentions is to figure out if you are a bonafide students with genuine intentions to study and not to over stay or not leave Canada at all.

You should keep your documents handy (passport, LOA from college, welcome letter- the one you receive along with passport) and keeping other documents handy is also not a bad idea. He will ask you which college and what program you are here for? How long will you stay here. Now this is where usually you should ask for 3 months extra permit. For example your program ends on December 2015, you can ask him to grant you a permit valid till 2016 January by stating that you will need to apply for PGWP and result will be out only in January or February. Don't worry about asking this, it's quite normal and they are aware of it. Even if you don't ask him for extra one or two months, it's alryt. Should the need arise, study permit extension is no big deal from within Canada.

They may not allow you to enter when should they feel that you do not have intentions of studying here or you are landing 3 to 4 months ahead of start date etc.

and yeah I live right next to Humber North Campus, don't forget to bring a big pack of Marlboro Gold for me. Rofl.

Cheers!

Sometime agents ask for Successful Client's Visa Photocopy for their record Just to Get more Clients and Show your Visa as a Proof to Convince them that they are capable :P:P

I don't see any point in panic . :o :P
